but I should add that the issue is also that those “presence” discourse metrics are not reliable at all. for example, if I read a proposal on the telegram app browser (because someone sent me the link to it on telegram), where I’m not logged into my forum account (and even if I do login, it resets every time), that read time is not tracked. if I read a proposal on my email app, in the email notification that discourse sends me, that read time is not tracked. if i read a proposal on any other app that displays them, that read time is not tracked. coming to this discourse forum and reading content while logged in, should not be the only way a delegate needs to be forced to do it so that it counts towards their score.
meaning my issue is not just about this presence metrics being easily gamed or not, as you said, all of it can be gamed, but more about them not being reliable metrics.
in the other hand, if my forum account likes a post, or if it posts a comment/topic, you can be sure that metric count is reliable and that it was indeed done by me and that that score should be attributed to me.
