Ongoing Temperature Checks
1. [CONSTITUTIONAL] AIP: Security Council Election Process Improvements (Voting ends September 11th)
This constitutional proposal focuses on updating the Security Council election process alongside the necessary changes to the ArbitrumDAO constitution - aiming to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and practicality of the Security Council election process (for both candidates and delegates).
As the proposed changes are independent of one another, this temperature check uses ‘approval voting’ to better understand sentiment regarding each individual change before deciding how to proceed with the vote.
Proposed changes: Increasing cohort durations from 1 year to 2 years, reducing the qualification threshold for the Member Election, allowing members to bypass the Nominee Selection, allowing candidates to rotate keys during the election cycle, and allowing members to rotate keys during the term.
2. Revert the Delegate Incentive Program (DIP) to Version 1.5 (Voting ends September 11th)
This proposal aims to roll back the changes introduced in DIP v1.6 and v1.7, to return to v1.5.
It lets the DAO re-evaluate which version of the DIP should run for the remaining two months, at which point the current season of the DIP is set to expire.
Voting options include: keeping the current version (1.7) of the program, sunsetting the program altogether, and reverting to version 1.5.
