[DIP v1.51a] Updates Thread

As stated in the proposal, the program administrator can introduce changes to the Delegate Incentive Program.

The SEEDGov team and Karma are committed to gathering feedback, obtaining more information, and implementing the necessary changes to optimize performance. Considering the new duration of the program, the Program Administrator reserves the right to make changes in the scoring methodology by giving public notice in the forum.

Note: The program manager may adjust the compensation parameters, provided they inform the DAO of the reasons for the changes.

In line with our commitment to continually gather feedback and iterate on the program to optimize performance and achieve maximum efficiency, we are introducing the following adjustments to the program:

Changelog

Introducing v1.51

December 30th, 2024

Changes

  • Tiers: Changing Tiers System Parameters

    • Tier 1: TP ≥ 90% (previously TP ≥ 85%). Compensation range: $5,950 to $7,000. ARB cap: 16,500.
    • Tier 2: TP ≥ 75% and < 90% (previously TP ≥ 70% and < 85%). Compensation range: $4,200 to $5,100. ARB cap: 12,000
    • Tier 3: TP ≥ 65% and < 75% (previously TP ≥ 65% and <70%). Compensation range: $3,000 to $3,250. ARB cap: 8,000.

Rationale: We believe that Tier 1 should serve to highlight the delegates with the best performance during the month. Additionally, we noticed that the percentage ranges were uneven, so to normalize them, we decided to implement a structure with a moderately extensive middle range and equal lengths for the extremes (Tier 1: 10% – Tier 2: 15% – Tier 3: 10% instead of 5 - 15 - 15).

  • Bonus Points for Calls Assistance

    • For each GRC, 1,25% BP will be awarded for attendance.
    • For each bi-weekly call, 1.25% BP will be awarded for attending each call.

Rationale: Considering our experience in November, setting the maximum cap for Bonus Points at 5% is the appropriate figure. Anything above this percentage would be excessive, and anything less would not sufficiently encourage delegates to attend the calls and, consequently, gain more context about what is happening in the ArbitrumDAO. Furthermore, with the change in the Governance Report Calls (now two monthly calls instead of one), we feel the need to adjust this parameter.

The changes mentioned above become effective as of January 1, 2025.

Introducing v1.51a

January 20th, 2025

Changes

  • Proposal Feedback

    • Proposals Threads with less than 5 comments during the evaluated month will not be considered for the ‘Delegates Feedback’ multiplier.

Rationale:
We noticed that there were proposals included month by month, with little activity, which was detrimental to the majority of delegates who did not participate IN THAT MONTH (because the denominator of proposals contemplated increased, and this decreased the participation score of the delegates).

We decided to implement a change in which we will consider the comments of the delegates in the discussions with little interaction (less than 5 comments) but we will not consider these discussions in the total discussions of the month. In this way, we record the comments of the delegates, and at the same time, we do not harm the others whose scores would be drastically lowered.

The changes mentioned above become effective retroactively as of January 1, 2025.
