- Preferred Role within the Supervisory Council Operations
Please note that after key delegate conversations, Entropy Advisors and Tamara are excited to announce that we will combine applications! Tamara will still need to be elected and will receive full compensation for the position if chosen. Entropy Advisors will not receive further payment for their portion of the work. This path was recommended by L2BEAT, the former DAO advocate for the ARDC.
Tamara will take the helm for the ARDC’s day-to-day operational workload, largely made up of granular tracking and reporting of the ARDC members, while Entropy will act as the DAO’s representative informing the ARDC’s workload and strategic direction. Together we will drive the ARDC to work on the highest-value add initiatives for the DAO and ensure that work being done is tracked and communicated professionally.
Background & Skills
Provide a brief overview of your experience within DAOs and governance. Highlight any relevant leadership or organizational roles within Arbitrum, or other DAOs. Include how your experience has prepared you for the responsibilities of the Supervisory Council. (400 words max)
Please note: Entropy will be in charge of ensuring the ARDC’s strategy is aligned with the Arbitrum DAO in addition to facilitating the relationship between the Operations Supervisory Role and the DAO.
As a Project Manager for the Research Team with Lido DAO, I have contributed to advancing critical initiatives, ensuring that research and strategy align with the DAO’s overarching goals while fostering collaboration across teams.
Additionally, I am an active member of the Governance Circle at V DAO, where I have helped shape governance processes and contributed to creating policies that enable efficient and transparent decision-making. This involvement has given me a deep understanding of decentralized governance frameworks and the importance of balancing community interests with operational priorities.
Lastly being part of backbone.build I have access/exposure to other DAOs such as e.g., dYdX Operations subDAO and others. These experiences have provided me with a comprehensive view of decentralized governance, from DAO/contributor transparency to implementing robust operational frameworks.
This diverse background equips me with the skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the Supervisory Council. My ability to navigate complex governance structures, manage stakeholder interests, and implement strategic initiatives ensures I can contribute effectively to upholding the council’s mission and driving long-term success.
Explain how your skills align with the responsibilities of the Supervisory Council. Focus on your ability to oversee strategic priorities, manage resources, and handle communication or operations. (400 words max)
Having previously been a management consultant, managing stakeholders and their operations towards a common goal comes natural to me. Similarly as project manager with Lido I am handling all operations, OKRs and budgets for the Research team.
Lastly as previously mentioned Entropy will be in charge of strategic direction, ensuring its alignment with stakeholders and the DAO.
Motivation & Strategic Vision
What motivates you to join the Supervisory Council, and what do you hope to achieve during your term? Explain why you are interested in a specific role (Communications or Operations) and how it aligns with your experience and skills. (300 words max)
I am highly excited to support the forefront of technology by coordinating research and development efforts, and doing this within the leading L2 DAO is an added bonus. As my previous experience shows, I have a strong background in operations and believe my contribution can bring a lot of value to the ARDC and the Arbitrum DAO overall.
What strategic priorities would you focus on during your term to ensure the ARDC meets its goals? How do you plan to contribute to aligning the ARDC’s activities with the broader objectives of the ArbitrumDAO? (500 words max)
As a supportive function in the ARDC, excellence in this operations role, means three things:
- Transparency of the ARDC’s ongoing efforts to the broader Arbitrum DAO
- Impactful and effective allocation of resources
- Enabling researchers to deliver within timelines
I plan to pursue the goals mentioned above by establishing best practice processes around project management, here I can draw from my professional experience as a management consultant. Ensure effective communication between collaborators with structured async communication policies. Foster a culture of documentation of both WIP reports as well as final reports open to the DAO.
Again collaborating with Entropy will ensure that I have the context and access required to ensure the success of the ARDC V2.
Role-Specific Responsibilities [Only Applicable to Operations Role]
Describe your experience in overseeing operations and resource management. How will you manage the ARDC’s resources effectively, particularly within the context of the retainer model, where two-thirds of the cap allocated to working members is contingent on actual project needs? Provide examples of how you will track project deliverables, manage budgets, and ensure that payments are aligned with project milestones and usage. (500 words max)
Prior to joining Lido I worked as a project manager with McKinsey, and thereafter led startups with annual revenue ranging 10-15M USD, giving me extensive experience in resource management and operations.
To ensure the resources are used effectively and efficiently I suggest the following approach (or a variation after gaining more insights):
- determine project needs
- identify deliverables and responsible working member(s)
- identify resources required
- set up project milestones and (bi)-weekly check-points to track progress
- identify % of milestone completion during check-points
- proceed to payment after milestone completion
Explain your approach to maintaining transparent task-tracking systems for the ARDC. How will you use tools like public dashboards or Notion to ensure accountability and provide regular progress updates to the DAO? (300 words max)
Ideally we create full visibility on projects and milestones on a public dashboard on Notion.
What I have seen working well are Trello style dashboards on Notion, where for every project a template needs to be filled out including: problem statement, goals, key results, stakeholders, customers, requirements and milestones.
Based on the milestones, regular check-ins will be conducted and minutes published accordingly,
Best case scenario is that the DAO can view the project status any time with at most a 3-4 day delay.
Prioritisation & Time Allocation
You will also need to evaluate and prioritise deliverables while assessing whether the time quoted by working members for specific tasks is reasonable. How will you determine which deliverables should be prioritised based on DAO needs, and how will you assess whether the time allocated for these tasks is appropriate? (400 words max)
Prioritization:
Prioritization will occur by assessing the DAOs needs and whether deliverables fulfill these needs (completely or partially). Prioritization will be closely tied to the strategy direction which will be led by Entropy.
Time allocation:
Daily check-ins will allow me to assess whether progress has been made, by whom progress has been made (junior or senior roles aka rates), what blockers have to be removed etc. On top of it being a DAOs research team’s project manager makes me confident to be able to assess whether a certain time allocation is appropriate. In doubt, I would conduct a small benchmark among other researchers in my network.
Summary of Qualifications
In summary, highlight your key qualifications and explain why you are a strong fit for the Supervisory Council. Emphasise the skills and experiences that make you well-suited for either the Communications or Operations role, and how you will contribute to the ARDC’s success. (400 words max)
My “traditional” experience (project manager with McKinsey) and my current role as Project Manager for Lido within the Research team, equips me perfectly for the operations role within the supervisory council. Not only am I highly skilled in dealing with different stakeholders, bringing them together towards a common goal, while reporting on all activities, but I also have deep experience in working with individual researchers and research teams.
Combining my skills with Entropy’s context and knowledge makes natural sense and will ensure a successful delivery of the ARDC V2.
