Summary
Argentina has one of the strongest Ethereum communities and is among the top 15 countries in cryptocurrency adoption, a prominence it has gained as a means to mitigate financial instability and inflation.
Ethereum Argentina is a non-profit conference, which seeks to improve and expand the ecosystem, fostering the exchange of knowledge and strengthening the network of contacts between participants. An ideal space to establish valuable connections and learn from industry leaders, providing a unique opportunity to interact with the community.
From Ethereum Argentina, we proposed the Domain Allocator that Arbitrum become a sponsor of the event once again, allowing both in-person and social media exposure to over 2,000 technical and non-technical attendees
We also suggested the presentation of two in-person workshops during the conference:

The technical aspects of the sequencer’s operation and Wake Up Labs’ proposal for developing a front end.

A technical workshop explaining the benefits of building with Orbit technology over other L2 stacks.
Finally, we also had a talk by @AnaTech.eth from the Arbitrum Foundation, providing an update on the latest developments with Arbitrum and Orbit Chain
By having a presence both in the social media and in the workshops, Arbitrum gained an audience of 2,000 users, developers & builders, fostering the use and development of its chain, leading to greater adoption of this scalability solution in Argentina and throughout Latin America. Additionally, it helped the Argentine community gain a better understanding of how Arbitrum works and its advantages compared to other L2 solutions.
Ethereum Argentina 2024
This year, we proposed a one-day conference with an agenda full of innovative content about the revolution and opportunities Ethereum is creating: use cases, new tech updates, staking, AI and blockchain, cybersecurity, Web 2 companies transitioning to Web 3, DeFi, NFTs, tech revolution, digital identity, rollups, Argentina as the crypto capital, crypto usability, and much more!
The main event was a huge success:
- more than 2.000 assistants
- 34 speakers
- 11 Workshops
- 20 conferences
- 1 main stage + 1 workshop + wide co-working spaces + nft projection
Regarding Arbitrum, we posted a proposal for it to be one of the official sponsors of Ethereum Argentina and to host 2 workshops during the main event.
In this regard, we proposed achieving 3 milestones:

First, securing the sponsorship space and the workshops slots. This was accomplished as soon as the proposal was approved, as our team reserved the space.

Second, the presence on social media and the brand’s visibility during the event. This was also successfully achieved, as we explain below.

Third, and what we consider most valuable, is the execution of the workshops on the day of the event. We had two great workshops dedicated to showcasing Arbitrum’s technology. As a premium, we also had a talk by Ana Belén from the Arbitrum Foundation, who provided an update on what is currently happening in the ecosystem.

As soon as the sponsorship was approved via the Domain Allocator, we announced on social media that Arbitrum was once again a sponsor of Ethereum Argentina:
This post was published on social media platform X and also shared on Instagram and LinkedIn. We posted on various social media platforms to reach a broader audience beyond just those who follow crypto Twitter. Ethereum Argentina aims to attract new users and developers to the ecosystem.
The post was well received by the audience, with over 700 views and 61 interactions. Ehereum Argentina event was also shared by Arbitrum accounts dedicated to the Latin American audience. See here & here.

Workshops (3rd milestone)
Making Arbitrum More Decentralized (@0xMilton & Chris Escalante - @WakeUpLabs ).

@0xMilton explained the characteristics of a rollup, demonstrated the technical functioning of a sequencer, discussed its challenges, and introduced a new feature they are developing for Arbitrum: a front-end interface to force transaction inclusion during sequencer downtime.
Then Cris spoke and showcased the code behind the application they are building. Together, they explained that their goal is to create a decentralized, user-friendly app that can force transactions during sequencer downtime, in order to make Arbitrum more decentralized:
This workshop addressed two key aspects for the DAO. Firstly, it provided high-quality technical educational content, enabling developers to gain a deeper understanding of the sequencer’s operations and the challenges involved in the functioning of a rollup.
Secondly, it showcased Arbitrum’s commitment to investing in security measures for its users. By enabling direct transaction submission to Layer 1, users can bypass potential issues with the sequencer or any attempts at censorship, ensuring uninterrupted transaction capabilities. This approach also upholds Arbitrum’s trustless security model, reinforcing the integrity of its rollup technology even during operational challenges.
Lastly, this workshop not only served to showcase what can be built on Arbitrum, how to do it, and the benefits it can bring, but also how to take a proposal to the Arbitrum forum for community and governance feedback before presenting an official proposal to the Arbitrum DAO.
Despega con Arbitrum Orbit: Crea tu Propia Blockchain Capa 3 (@edsphinx aka Oscar - Ethereum Honduras Community Blockchain Developer)
@edsphinx presented a workshop on how to deploy your own Layer 3 using Orbit technology. In this workshop, the benefits of building with Orbit technology over other L2 stacks were explained
Oscar was in charge of demonstrating live how to create a Layer 3 with Arbitrum Orbit. Our goal was to support the Foundation’s initiative with their Developer Guild: at Ethereum Argentina, we believe that the development of Arbitrum’s technology is crucial for the growth of the ecosystem, so we aim to bring it closer to more developers

@AnaTech.eth started the talk by discussing what’s currently happening in Arbitrum, providing an excellent opportunity for everyone to get up to date. She extended an invitation to participate in Arbitrum’s governance, to build on this L2, and introduced the new update: Stylus, which allows coding in Arbitrum using other programming languages such as Rust and C++:
She also talked about the development of Orbit Chains on Arbitrum and how the foundation is supporting their continuous growth. In this regard, she shared an Alpha: there are already more than 60 publicly announced Orbit Chains, with many more currently being built!
Ana’s talk was an excellent opportunity for developers to get up to speed on the tremendous growth of the Arbitrum network and its ecosystem, composed of both L2 and L3, the technology being developed, and the efforts to attract new developers, such as Stylus.

There was tremendous interest from local developers! The room was packed during the Arbitrum workshops:
The workshops and the talk successfully brought Arbitrum closer to both developers and ecosystem enthusiasts. Through these technical demonstrations, detailed explanations, and discussions on new features, participants not only gained a better understanding of how Arbitrum’s technology works but were also motivated to contribute to the ecosystem’s growth.
Without a doubt, they sparked significant interest. The importance of governance and decentralization was reinforced, opening doors for more users and developers to get involved in building a more secure and accessible Arbitrum for everyone.
