We are excited to present our final report on the “Arbitrum Dapps over Apps” initiative aimed at expanding the Arbitrum ecosystem in Nigeria. This project focused on developer onboarding, curriculum development, and organizing workshops and hackathons. We are proud to report that we have significantly increased the number of developers proficient in building with Stylus, contributing to the growth of both Arbitrum and the broader web3 space.
Major Highlights
Research and Development (Beyond Our Proposed Deliverables):
- We conducted extensive research on Arbitrum, culminating in the publication of a 352-page comprehensive Mastering Arbitrum guide. This resource includes:
- Technical documentation on building with Stylus.
- Step-by-step instructions on running a BoLD validator node.
- Detailed insights into Roll-ups and other key topics to help developers, users, and validators scale effectively in the web3 ecosystem.

“Official” Stylus Launch Party in Nigeria:
- Although not initially included in our proposed deliverables, we felt compelled to celebrate our accomplishment in creating aware for Stylus in Nigeria. (Would love to get the Dao’s support for a large official launch )
Development Milestones:
- 30+ dApps were built on Stylus and Arbitrum, representing a 300% increase from our proposed deliverables.
Hackathon Impact:
- 89+ hackers registered, with 22 project submissions. Link to project submissions
Certification:
- We issued both on-chain) and physical certificates to over 300+ participants, further incentivizing and recognizing their contributions.
Training Program:
- Over 6 weeks of hands-on training, focusing specifically on building with @Arbitrum Stylus.
Social Media Reach:
- Our initiative garnered 200k+ social media impressions, showcasing the growth of the Arbitrum ecosystem in Nigeria.
Collaborations:
- We collaborated with key teams at Offchain Labs, Arbitrum Foundation, and Superposition to review hackathon projects, strengthening our network and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Milestone 1 Completed:
We started a strong movement for Arbitrum in Nigeria with Dapps over Apps and we are proud of how far we have come with just the first milestone.
- We conducted comprehensive research and a fully-fledged book on Master Web3 & Arbitrum–covering Stylus, BoLD governance model, Optimistic roll up, and many more. (Would be sent privately on request)
- We demystified Arbitrum Stylus and built its first ever Fund-raising app, Gaming app and lot more which are still in progress.

100+ POAPS claimed and minted. (180 collectors in total, including participants from our Milestone 2 event)
- In addition to our IRL events, we decided to add an intensive online bootcamp to it in order to expand its reach and impact

Judges and mentors for the ongoing hackathon are experts in the Arbitrum blockchain. We got @hammertoe; senior devrel at Arbitrum foundation, Srinjoy; a product manager at offchain labs where he works on Stylus developer interface. @bayge is the CTO at fluidity labs(superposition)–they are currently building a custom blockchain with Arbitrum Stylus. We also have experienced blockchain engineer proficient in Rust and solidity with an extensive knowledge on how web3 product can be scaled.

Milestone 2 Completed
We are excited to submit the report for our milestone 2. It’s been an amazing journey training local developers on Arbitrum and the new stylus developer framework. Below are major highlight from milestone 2 deliverables:
- We had 160+ attendees of developers and non developer curious about web3 and ready to learn everything about Arbitrum stacks.

- We currently have an on-going series of training and support on our Telegram channel for developers participating in the hackathon.
- Telegram Community member surged from 280 to 608 - shows the interest and reach of our project
- Issued out more Certificate of participation through POAP: POAP Gallery
- Hosted a one-week online bootcamp prior to the in-person workshops.
- Extended hackathon till oct 10 to give room for quality projects.

Milestone 4 Completed: All projects completed
We are excited to announce the completion of all the projects in this proposal. It’s a thing of joy that we worked so hard to deliver beyond our proposed milestone. We are grateful for the support.
- We had 22 projects submitted for the hackathon which culminates to 30+ built during this program. Winners will be announced as soon as the judges are done reviewing the projects.
