Our Journey on Arbitrum [Second Semester 2024 + January 2025]
TL;DR:
WakeUp Labs’ journey on Arbitrum from July 2024 to date, showcasing our involvement in the Arbitrum ecosystem.
Arbitrum Connect
We fully developed and deployed Arbitrum Connect, a front-end interface designed to empower users to enforce transaction inclusion during sequencer misbehaviors.
You can read more about this in its dedicated thread: WakeUp Labs Update Thread - Front-End Interface for Transaction Inclusion.
Is the force inclusion mechanism available on Orbit Chains?
After our first development, a question arose “Is the force inclusion mechanism available on Orbit Chains?”
To answer it, we decided to keep iterating the concepts behind Arbitrum Connect, but for Orbit Chains on Arbitrum. This system ensures transactions can still be processed even when the sequencer of the Orbit Chain misbehaves.
Find more information about it here: Force Inclusion is now available on any arbitrum orbit chain.
In person events!
As part of our commitment to the Arbitrum ecosystem, we have actively participated in key industry events, sharing our knowledge and contributing to its growth, without financial incentives.
Arbitrum Governance Hackathon @ EthCC
We went to EthCC, and we joined Arbitrum’s GovHack where Gonzalo Silman put forward a proposal to assign a Research, Development, and Quality Assurance Squad to help Arbitrum build the first decentralized sequencer.
Read the proposal here: Forum Proposal - Research, Development, and QA Squad.
Workshop @ EtherArgentina
On August 2nd. 2024, our Co-founder & CEO Milton Berman kicked off the workshop section at EtherArgentina, sharing insights on Arbitrum and the projects we were building.
They hosted a hands-on workshop on the Arbitrum sequencer, explaining how it works and what we were developing at WakeUp Labs.

Talk @ Aleph - Sequencer Misbehavior Avoider
On August 16th, 2024, our Co-founder Gonzalo Silman gave a talk at Aleph, discussing the Sequencer Misbehavior Avoider and our ongoing work on Arbitrum’s sequencer.
We wrapped up the week at Aleph with an in-depth discussion on how our solution helps mitigate sequencer misbehaviors and strengthens the Arbitrum network.
Arbitrum Day & Friends @ Aleph
On August 19th, we joined Arbitrum Day & Friends at Aleph to share insights into Arbitrum’s latest advancements.
At Huerta Cowork, we showcased “Arbitrum Connect”, enabling seamless asset withdrawals from Arbitrum to Ethereum in case of sequencer misbehavior.
Stylus Sprint
We are thrilled to announce that we were selected for the Stylus Sprint, leveraging Stylus and its WASM VM to enable impactful, scalable blockchain applications.
We are going to be integrating AssemblyScript into the Stylus SDK. This initiative will expand the Stylus SDK’s capabilities, empowering developers to write high-performance smart contracts in a TypeScript-based language.

Governance Security Council
We applied for a position on the governance Security Council. Although the competition was intense and we weren’t selected, we truly appreciated the incredible support from the community along the way.
What’s next
We’re excited to keep supporting Arbitrum’s growth and scaling its ecosystem.
