Program Summary
The Web3Bridge Arbitrum Developer Onboarding Program was a targeted ecosystem onboarding initiative designed to introduce African developers to the Arbitrum ecosystem through structured, hands-on training in Rust and Stylus smart contract development.
Building on Web3Bridge’s six years of experience training blockchain developers across Africa, the program focused on creating a production-oriented learning pipeline that transitioned developers from Ethereum familiarity into Arbitrum-native development.
The initiative began with a public Arbitrum Meetup that brought together over 200 developers, serving as both an ecosystem awareness event and the official program launch. From this pool, 64 developers were selected and onboarded into the structured training program.
Within the program scope, participants deployed over 200 smart contracts on Arbitrum testnet and produced 11 complete Stylus-based project submissions. This significantly increased Arbitrum’s development activity, mindshare, and learning interest within Web3Bridge’s growing African developer community.
Performance Against KPI
In our proposal we set out to;
- host a pre-training meetup for introducing Arbitrum and the training program with the goal of onboarding developers into the program.
- Onboard 53 developers into the training program
- Have five (5) minimum end of training projects
- Submit students/learners Github profile to show proof of learning
Our Performance
- Held the the meetup with 194 signups (Registration link here. Event pictures here
- Onboarded 64 developers into the program (Github repository of onboarded developers)
- Eleven (11) final projects submitted (link to project here)
Qualitative impact and community feedback
Most Significant Non-Quantitative Outcomes
- Increased confidence among developers to explore Arbitrum beyond Ethereum mainnet
- Strong early adoption of Stylus and Rust by developers previously unfamiliar with the stack
- Formation of new peer learning groups and early-stage teams
- Increased visibility of Arbitrum within African developer communities
- Creation of tutorials and materials to assist other developers to learn Stylus
The program successfully lowered the barrier to entry for Arbitrum by combining technical training, community immersion, and real deployment experience.

Future Plans & Continued Ecosystem Alignment
Web3bridge have been training developers for over 6years and with the Arbitrum grant for training Stylus developers, we have commited to supporting Rust and Stylus developers. To ensure continuity, we will be kicking off another Rust masterclass to further deepen the depth of understanding of Rust and Stylus
