The Election for the 2026 AGV Council has concluded!
Who are the new AGV Council members?
- David Bolger
(Core Competency: Business Development / Growth Leader)
David is the head of gaming and consumer partnerships at Offchain Labs, having worked with the organisation for 3.5 years. In this time, he represented Offchain Labs in conversations with over 500 gaming & consumer companies. He prospects and helps onboard and manage relationships for a significant part of the Arbitrum gaming and consumer ecosystem, which currently consists of over 80 projects and companies.
As a founding member of the AGV Council, David has a strong, daily working relationship with both the AGV team and the council. A core focus of his tenure has been ensuring a smooth experience for builders engaging with the various entities within the Arbitrum ecosystem. Specifically, he served as a liaison, facilitating cross-AAE collaboration by connecting the Offchain Labs partnerships team (who field many opportunities) with the AGV investment and grants teams (which handle the investment or grants diligence and contracting). His role on the AGV council has been instrumental in bridging these teams.
- Greg Canessa
(Core Competency: Strategy / Operations Leader)
Greg is an accomplished and passionate executive leader with 30+ years experience in the gaming industry at Xbox/Microsoft, Battle.net/Blizzard, Activision, GSN/Sony, PopCap Games (acquired by EA), Google, and Apple. Today, he serves as President & COO at Sequence, the award-winning development platform for integrating web3 into games.
Greg is also a founding member of the AGV council, where he has been instrumental in helping to set up and support the AGV operating team in a number of different capacities. He has been involved in most operational aspects of the program, providing guidance, expertise and networking contacts to support the partners and GM. Amongst his accomplishments, Greg drove the recruiting process for the AGV GM and founders, helped bootstrap PR/comms and other critical functions, and has brought a games industry operational perspective to both internal AGV operations as well as evaluation of prospective investments and portcos.
- Jojo
(Core Competency: Governance & Policy Leader)
Jojo has been involved in the Arbitrum DAO since 2023, moved by the interest of understanding governance and meet stakeholders of the ecosystem while working for several Arbitrum native projects. Since that time, he has been involved in several initiatives:
- As a delegate, being one of the most involved and the second highest contributor after L2Beat accordingly to the Arbitrum Foundation
- As an evaluator in LTIPP, STIP.b, Stylus, and Questbook Season 1 and 2
- Currently as Program Manager of the D.A.O. Grant Program
- As member of the interim council of the GCP (now AGV), with krz, BobRossi, limes, and coinflip
Aside from the three members elected, Tim Chang and John Kennedy have also been reconfirmed as members of the 2026 AGV Council by a DAO vote.
- Tim Chang
(Core Competency: Venture Capital and Investments)
Tim previously led consumer technology investments at Mayfield Fund and has been named twice to the Forbes Midas List of top 100 VCs in the world for his early-stage investments at the beginning of the social and mobile smartphone gaming eras.
Tim has also been named to the AlwaysOn Power Players of top investors, as well as receiving the Special Achievement award from the Gamification Summit for his work in leveraging game design thinking to domains beyond gaming.
Tim has led early-stage investments in Grove Collaborative, Tonal Fitness, Fitmob/Classpass, Iridigm Display, Playdom, ngmoco, Basis, AdChina, Moat, and Pillow, creating more than $2.6B in total exit value. His current board seats include Alignable and TRIPP VR.
Tim has also been an active and avid investor in web3/blockchain since 2014, helping to establish and invest in early crypto hedge funds, as well as advising and supporting multiple web3 gaming startups.
- John Kennedy
(Core Competency: Game Development / Go-To-Market Leader)
John, formerly Head of Product at AWS GameTech, left in 2023 to launch Actual AI—an engineering manager agent for software teams that provides guardrails for AI-powered software development. Actual AI has received venture funding from AlleyCorp, G2C ventures, OrangeDAO, Alchemist Accelerator, and Irregular Expressions.
At AWS, John successfully pitched the CEO on transforming Amazon’s Lumberyard into a cutting-edge open-source 3D game engine. He secured a team of over 100 top game engine developers to build Open 3D Engine (o3de.org), a modular, extensible, and high-performance 3D engine featuring a new renderer, visual scripting tool, and physics engine. Additionally, John launched and grew several high-revenue AWS services, enabling game developers to seamlessly serve hundreds of millions of players with capabilities for streaming, multiplayer servers, and cloud storage.
Next Steps Post-Election
As highlighted in the election timeline and process, following the results, there will be an Electee Verification Period running from December 5, 2025, to December 12, 2025.
During this time, OpCo will conduct a reference check to verify electees’ qualifications as stated on their CVs.
Upon final verification, we will make a formal update/announcement of the 2026 Council.
Following verification, there will be a transition period throughout December, during which previous Council members will ensure that newly appointed Council members are up to speed.
The new Council will begin its term on the 1st of January 2026.
