Arbitrum Audit Program Technical Expert Applications

The recently-approved Arbitrum Audit Program puts forward an Audit Committee, comprised of:

  1. Chair: Arbitrum Foundation
  2. Offchain Labs
  3. Technical Expert
  4. Arbitrum DAO’s OpCo (when operational)

As part of the approved process, an election will be conducted for the DAO to fill the Technical Expert role, who will play a significant role in operationalizing the Audit Program. The role is a paid position (USD$5k per month) and the expected workload is estimated at ~1-2 days per week.

The recommended requirements for any candidate to fulfill are:

  • Strong Solidity knowledge with a nice-to-have on Viper, Stylus, and/or Rust knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of blockchain security principles and common vulnerability patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with the Arbitrum ecosystem, including its architecture and tooling.

The Technical Expert will be responsible for:

  • Review audit reports submitted by external auditors, assessing the validity and accuracy of their findings.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Audit Committee in reviewing the applicants and the audit firms.
  • Assess the complexity of the audits and help in the matching between applicants and audit firms.

Notice: The candidate must be not affiliated in any capacity with any audit firms who have been accepted in the program as suppliers.

We invite everyone interested in the role to submit an application here, ideally including the following information in the cover letter:

  • Short introduction
  • Relevant experience
  • Prospective approach to the Audit Program and its operations, e.g., are there any particular components of the program you’d like to highlight/work on?

As part of the screening process, candidates may be asked to perform a technical exercise to prove their suitability.

The applications will be open until Friday, May 16th at 12pm CEST, after which the candidates will be shortlisted by the Arbitrum Foundation. Afterwards, an election for the position will be held on Snapshot, following the shielded voting standards described here.
