Call to Discuss Arbitrum's Fees and Sequencer Revenue

TL;DR

We’re inviting delegates, governance participants, and other interested stakeholders to discuss Arbitrum’s gas fees and the sequencer’s revenue on Friday, June 14th, 2024, at 1:00 pm UTC.

A key factor in continuing the various initiatives the DAO is funding is the DAO’s ability to generate revenue to sustain its growth. @Entropy published research that illustrates a significant drop in the revenue generated by L2 base fees, which has historically been the DAO’s main source of revenue, following the ArbOS Atlas and EIP-4844.

To follow up on that post and in tandem with the call we’re hosting on Wednesday, June 12th, to discuss creating a DAO budget, we want to invite the community to discuss Arbitrum’s fees and how to approach the revenue generated by the sequencer.

The discussion will take place on Google Meets on Friday, June 14th, 2024, at 1:00 pm UTC.

Hi everyone,

We’ve prepared a rough outline of our proposed changes to the fee mechanism, which you can view here: Copy of Arbitrum Gas Fees & Sequencer Revenue Proposal - Google Docs

As we develop the proposal, we’ve encountered several open questions and options that we’re eager to explore with you. Please review the document before tomorrow’s meeting if you have a chance to help inspire our discussion.

Looking forward to your thoughts and contributions!
