Project Overview & Impact
Ethereum México 2025 successfully established Arbitrum as the Title Ecosystem Partner for Mexico’s flagship Ethereum event, held October 31 - November 2, 2025, in Monterrey. Through deep integration rather than standard sponsorship, we created an “Arbitrum Everywhere” experience that exceeded all performance targets and positioned Arbitrum as the leading L2 platform in the Mexican developer ecosystem.
Key Achievements:
-
+130 Hackers participated in the hackathon with 110 submissions
-
20 projects built specifically for Arbitrum tracks (200% of target)
-
7 high-quality dApps deployed using Arbitrum Stylus (140% of target)
-
220+ university students onboarded through pre-event tour (120% above target)
-
1.23 million social media impressions (245% of target)
-
109 new members in dedicated Ethereum México developer Telegram community (built from zero)
Impact of Grant Funding
This grant was transformational for both Ethereum México and the Arbitrum ecosystem in Latin America. The funding enabled us to:
Execute a Multi-Layered Developer Funnel: From university workshops reaching 220+ students, to advanced Stylus training, to incentivized hackathon building—we created a complete pipeline that moved developers from awareness to active deployment on Arbitrum.
Establish Arbitrum as the Premier L2 in Mexico: Through title partnership positioning, main stage keynotes, dedicated workshop content, and dominant branding, Arbitrum became synonymous with innovation at Mexico’s largest Ethereum event. This wasn’t just visibility; it was narrative ownership.
Create Permanent Educational Infrastructure: The professionally recorded workshop and keynote content now serves as evergreen educational resources for the broader LATAM developer community, extending impact far beyond the event dates.
Build Sustainable Community: The new developer Telegram community of 109 members provides ongoing infrastructure for continued Arbitrum ecosystem growth in the region, while our university partnerships create pathways for future talent pipelines.
Without this grant, we would have executed a standard multi-sponsor event. With it, we delivered a focused, immersive Arbitrum experience that fundamentally shifted how hundreds of developers in Mexico and LATAM perceive and engage with Layer 2 technology.

3. Qualitative Impact & Community Feedback
Most Significant Non-Quantitative Outcomes
Strategic Positioning in LATAM Ecosystem: Ethereum México 2025 established Arbitrum as the definitive L2 partner for serious builders in Mexico and broader LATAM. By serving as a strategic stopover before Devconnect Buenos Aires, we positioned Arbitrum at the center of the region’s developer journey. Attendees consistently reported that Arbitrum’s deep integration—rather than surface-level sponsorship—demonstrated genuine commitment to the region.
University Ecosystem Penetration: Our partnerships with Tec de Monterrey, UANL, and U-ERRE created institutional pathways for ongoing Arbitrum education. These aren’t one-time engagements; they’re relationships that will continue to channel student talent toward the Arbitrum ecosystem for years to come.
Quality of Projects: Beyond quantity, the Stylus track produced genuinely innovative projects including Kuyay (decentralized supply chain), DeFi Hedge Fund (sophisticated DeFi tooling), and Encargo (Web3 logistics). These weren’t tutorial-level projects; they were production-ready dApps solving real regional problems.
Content as Public Goods: The recorded workshop and keynote materials are now permanent educational resources. The 36-minute keynote by João Kury on Arbitrum’s LATAM expansion strategy and the 40-minute panel on blockchain fundamentals provide ongoing value to developers who couldn’t attend in person.
Key Alliances: We connected the Arbitrum Foundation with startup founders such as Moca. We are currently awaiting their feedback to identify additional connections they may need, following the sharing of an attendee list and potential introductions. In parallel, we continue to proactively connect them with high-value contributors across the ecosystem.

Telegram Testimonials:
“By the way, the hackathon was amazing! The mentors were excellent. Even though I had only learned about that technology and those concepts shortly before the event, I was able to understand what we needed for our project in a very short time and build a prototype that my team and I were really happy with.
I hope you come back to Monterrey soon. My team and I want to start a Web3 club at UANL, since we had never seen anything like this before and truly believe this technology has great potential. It would be great to have more students looking to grow and develop in this path.”

5. Future Plans & Continued Ecosystem Alignment
Next Steps Post-Grant
Expanding the Original Idea:
Educational Platform Launch: We are developing a dedicated educational hub at ethmexico.org featuring all Arbitrum workshop content, guides, and resources created during this grant. This platform will serve as an evergreen resource for LATAM developers discovering Arbitrum, extending the grant’s impact indefinitely.
Builder Introductions & Ecosystem Integration: We have provided the Arbitrum Foundation with a curated list of top projects and builders from the hackathon for potential ecosystem support, partnership opportunities, and continued development resources. Several teams have expressed interest in building long-term on Arbitrum.
Regional Event Series: Building on the success of the university tour, we are planning quarterly regional Arbitrum-focused developer meetups across Mexico (Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey) to maintain momentum and continue onboarding new builders.
As part of our ongoing collaboration, Arbitrum will be highlighted at our upcoming IRL event at no additional cost, as an added deliverable for their 2025 support.
Continued Engagement in Arbitrum:
Monthly Content Amplification: We have committed to amplifying Arbitrum announcements and content through our social channels (36K+ combined reach) on a monthly basis. This includes highlighting Arbitrum ecosystem updates, new projects, and technical developments to our engaged LATAM audience.
Ongoing IRL Activations: Arbitrum will be featured at 1 upcoming in-person event and 1 virtual event in our 2026 programming. These touchpoints maintain visibility and engagement between major annual conferences.
Video Content Series: We are producing a video series highlighting top apps built on Arbitrum, starting with projects from our hackathon. This content will showcase real-world use cases to inspire the next wave of builders.
Dedicated Educational Content: We are creating infographics and visual explainers about Arbitrum technology, Stylus capabilities, and ecosystem opportunities specifically tailored for Spanish-speaking LATAM audiences.
Developer Community Nurturing: Our new 109-member Telegram community will receive regular Arbitrum updates, technical resources, and opportunities for continued learning. This creates a persistent, engaged developer cohort in the region.
Impact on Future Funding & Partnerships
This grant has been instrumental in validating our model of deep ecosystem integration over surface-level sponsorship. The success of the “Title Ecosystem Partner” approach—demonstrated through exceeded KPIs and strong community response—has generated significant interest from other Layer 2 protocols and blockchain ecosystems for future events.
Specific Partnership Impact:
-
University partnerships established through the grant have opened doors for semester-long blockchain curriculum integration
-
Local government and institutional partners have expressed increased interest in supporting future events given the demonstrated educational impact
The grant also strengthened our relationship with the Arbitrum Foundation, with João Kury’s participation and positive feedback creating pathways for continued collaboration beyond this specific grant cycle.
6. Additional Remarks
Recognition & Gratitude
We want to extend deep gratitude to the Arbitrum DAO for believing in our vision of deep ecosystem integration. This wasn’t a typical sponsorship transaction; it was a genuine partnership that allowed us to create something truly exceptional for the Mexican and LATAM blockchain ecosystem.
Special recognition to João Kury and David G from the Arbitrum Foundation for their participation, technical guidance, and genuine investment in the success of the event.
Unexpected Wins
Institutional Interest: We were pleasantly surprised by the level of institutional interest generated. Multiple traditional fintech companies and government representatives attended specifically because of the Arbitrum partnership, viewing it as validation of the technology’s maturity and real-world applicability.
Student Engagement Quality: The university tour exceeded expectations not just in numbers but in engagement quality. At Tec Milenio, nearly double the registered students showed up mid-session, forcing us to expand room capacity. This organic interest demonstrates genuine hunger for Arbitrum education in the region.
Media Amplification: Local media coverage exceeded expectations, with mainstream outlets like El Economista covering the event. This moves Arbitrum visibility beyond crypto-native audiences into broader tech and business communities in Mexico.
Commitment to Transparency
All project submissions, winner information, and prize distribution data have been documented transparently. We have shared comprehensive builder lists with the Arbitrum Foundation team for potential ecosystem support and continued engagement.
