Hey @brichis what a pleasure to have you here!

Ethereum Mexico is one of the biggest events in Latin America!

I have a few questions:

  1. On what date do you plan to launch the event?
  2. Do you have metrics from the previous event?
  3. Is the event 1 day or several?
  4. What other sponsors do you currently have?
  5. Can you give a description of the skills and where the team currently works? I know them all and can attest that they are great builders. But I think it is necessary for the entire DAO to know who is behind this great event.

Translated with DeepL

I also have some questions:

  • I understand that it cannot be denominated in USD and must be denominated in ARB tokens. Here I ask for help from @cliffton.eth

This question is more for the DAO. Very good proposals are coming to the forum like this one and Atoma one. How should we manage these proposals while the Questbook grants are in comino which gives a framework for this kind of proposals?

  • Should we send everyone out to apply for Questbook grants?

  • Do we require them to fit the framework or are there proposals that can be applied for in different ways?

  • How do we evaluate each proposal?

  • At what point should we consider them ready for a vote?

This is a personal message, it does not represent the thoughts of the @seedlatam delegation.

I didn’t realize we could post this type of proposal here? Good Luck

Hey @axlvaz_SEEDLATAM.eth! The pleasure is mine!

Ethereum Mexico is set for October 21st in Mexico City.

This event marks a significant milestone for Ethereum México, it’s the bigger event that we had organized as Ethereum México Community. You can find some metrics from our previous events here: Presentation
We’ve also received commendations after working together:

“I’ve had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the Ethereum Mexico team for over a year now, and I must say, I’m truly impressed by their exceptional ability to onboard, educate, connect, and foster the growth of their vibrant web3 community. This journey has been nothing short of inspiring, revealing countless insights and possibilities that have shaped our collective vision for the future.
Their level of organization and professionalism is unparalleled, and I’ve witnessed firsthand their commitment to transparency and collaboration through the comprehensive reports they deliver, which are enriched with valuable community feedback. Their events, too, are a testament to their passion for the space, filled with captivating stories that have deeply inspired both myself and my team, igniting our drive to continually craft better web3 products and services.
Working with the Ethereum Mexico team has not only been an enriching experience, but it has also helped us forge meaningful connections within the web3 ecosystem. Their dedication to cultivating a supportive and inclusive environment has been instrumental in our growth and success.
I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunity to be part of this remarkable journey, and I’m excited about what the future holds as we continue to build together towards a decentralized and interconnected world.” - Rodrigo Carraresi, Head of Developer Relations at Ledger.

It’s a one-day event featuring talks, workshops, and community showcases. Given its importance in the local Web3 scene, it’s anticipated to generate a flurry of activity in Mexico City, including side events. We’re also hosting multiple events in different cities leading up to the main event, fostering networking among local communities.

We’ve already secured partnerships with Liquity and Metapool, and discussions are underway with other prominent Ethereum players.

What is the capacity of the venue where the event will be held? According to the slides, the events have had less than 100 attendees.

I should like to make a personal comment (not as a member of @seedlatam team)

I like seeing this trend in the events field, where organizers come to DAO forums instead of pursuing sponsorship through DMs. As someone who has organized several events over the years, chasing multiple sponsors via email, Telegram, Signal, etc., can be exhausting. Sometimes a good event proposal goes unnoticed, lost in a crowded email inbox. I believe that bringing it to a public forum also helps improve the proposal.

I just wanted to say that I personally know Ariiellus and @dmars300, and they are great guys. They have done a lot to promote education not only in Mexico but throughout the region. Well, I also have a very positive opinion of @AnaTech.eth, but I don’t think it’s necessary to reinforce it; she is a trustworthy figure simply because she is part of the Foundation.

Good luck :blue_heart: :orange_heart:

Hello everyone!

Since we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate, meet, and establish connections, both online and in-person encounters with certain members of the Ethereum Mexico organizing team, we want to share our experiences.

Our relationship with part of the organizing team has been nurtured for some years now. It was significantly strengthened thanks to the ETH Latam Bogotá event, where we had the chance to meet and connect in various ways.

We would like to highlight our relationship with @dmars300, who facilitated the connection between ETH Global and SEED Latam, enabling us to collaborate on the Bogotá hackathon.

Furthermore, we have witnessed that the communities they are involved in provide education in a responsible manner, with a curated focus and a high level of commitment and professionalism.

On one hand, Laura is connected with Mujeres en Crypto (a community closely associated with SEED Latam). During ETH Latam Bogotá, she offered her assistance, collaboration, and jointly organized events. On the other hand, Ariielus actively shares and participates in some of the activities of our communitity and interacts with SEED Latam members.

We want to mention Ana in particular, who took the time at Ethereum Argentina to get to know the Arbitrum delegation team from SEED Latam in order to exchange ideas during the SEED Latam co-work.

Welcome to the Arbitrum forum, and good luck with your proposal

Nadie nos va a regalar la historia.

I will be in favour of this proposal as long as it can clearly be shown how this sponsorship will help grow this DAO and Arbitrum as a whole.

The foundation needs to show fiscal discipline and transparency in every proposal that they present to us to vote on. This sounds like a good idea, but I would like to be assured that doing this would be a definite net positive for all of us.

I was able to detail these points:

  • The workshop, what is it going to be about? or who is it going to be oriented to, devs? companies?
  • The booth, what does it include? just the space? or do you come with the complete booth? do you have a description?
  • The scholarships, can you elaborate more on this point? how are you going to select the people? what is the objective?
  • The talks, what topics are going to be covered, is someone from the Arbitrum Foundation going to be there, or who is going to give the talk and what are they going to talk about?
  • IRL event on Arbitrum, what kind of event is it?

Is the value of 8K USD the value of the main sponsors? Or is it an Arbitrum-only event? If there are other sponsors, can you tell us who they are?

Is the event 100% free? do you charge admission? do you sell merchandise?

GM @cryptopia!
Absolutely, we’re on the same page regarding the need for fiscal discipline and transparency. Our proposal aims for a net positive impact on the Arbitrum ecosystem by not only raising awareness but also educating potential users and developers. Metrics like meaningful conversations at the Arbitrum booth and attendance at workshops are designed to quantify this impact. We believe that by reaching our “Expected” or “Exceeded” performance indicators, the sponsorship will significantly contribute to the growth of the DAO and Arbitrum as a whole.

GM @axlvaz_SEEDLATAM.eth Great questions! Here are the details:

Topic: The workshop will focus on the Arbitrum Ecosystem, covering its technology, use-cases, and how to build on it or How to Start using it.

Audience: We have 3 main audiences: 1) developers, 2) end users and 3) possible contributors

Approximate space size: 2x1.5 meters.

A table and two chairs will be provided, but if there’s a need of additional furniture, we would be happy to support with this.

We will open a call for applications to all individuals within the national territory.
A committee will be formed to choose the recipients of these scholarships, which cover accommodation and transportation only.
The aim is to enable individuals to attend their first web3 events without financial constraints. Their interest in building, any prior contributions, and their background will be taken into consideration during the selection process.

Topics: Will cover Arbitrum’s technology, roadmap, and real-world applications.

Speakers: We’re in talks with contributors from the Arbitrum Foundation to be part of the session.

This is a real-life event in Mexico City after Ethereum México as a follow up for Arbitrum’s participation with a program that places Arbitrum at the forefront, alongside local communities.

An event for 40-80 people with 1 talk and 1 panel with people from the community or a workshop for 35 people. Including coffee station.

Yes, The $8,000 USD is the value for main sponsors.
We do have other sponsors onboard as well, and we would like to share their names in 2-3 weeks in our website.

Rest assured, we have only included organizations that are in alignment with Ethereum’s principles and goals.

The core event is designed to be budget-friendly, with tickets priced at less than $12 each. Our aim is to make it highly accessible while ensuring attendees truly appreciate the value of their ticket. We will offer a limited amount of merchandise, but it will be available for purchase through pre-orders only; there won’t be any on-site sales points.

We’ll be giving away around 200 tickets for free for some communities and students.

Is there enough time left to organize and contribute to this event? Seems a little late, especially to get through the approval process and organize a team to participate.

Hi @khadati! We appreciate your time in reviewing our proposal. We’re excited to let you know that we can have two community members at the booth who are well-versed in Arbitrum.

This is highly empowering for our community, as they will be fully prepared to represent Arbitrum. They will proactively engage with the Arbitrum Foundation and the Arbitrum DAO to address any queries before the event and provide attendees with the most up-to-date information about the Arbitrum Ecosystem.

A lots of Opportuanity here thanks Arb Ecosystem :ok_hand:

An annual budget for marketing and sponsorship activities should be established and voted on, not a vote for each event.

GM @Goodo!

I wholeheartedly agree that improving this process is essential for accountability. However, I’d like to bring up a specific consideration regarding our current situation.

We’re currently exploring various ways to fund our upcoming event, with a strong emphasis on transparency. Traditionally, these types of agreements tend to be private, but I firmly believe that when it comes to DAOs, transparency should be a priority.

That said, the proposal I’m presenting here involves a one-time payment, and the amount is less than 10k ARB. Given these factors, I kindly request your consideration for this proposal.

In the future, we’d be more than willing to share our organizational insights when you’re developing processes for events. On the flip side, it’s crucial to emphasize that this event holds immense importance for the Mexican communities. In-person events provide invaluable opportunities to connect with the Arbitrum Mexican community, onboard new users, and engage developers interested in building on Arbitrum but unsure of where to begin.

Considering the timing, our event is just around the corner. Therefore, I kindly ask for your extra consideration when voting on our Snapshot proposal. Our team is well-known in our country, and we would be truly honored to have Arbitrum’s presence at our event, given what it represents within the Ethereum ecosystem.

Thank you for your time and consideration
