2. Establishing a DAO Events Budget for 2025

We are voting FOR this proposal.

It is important for Arbitrum to be present at key industry events. In the past, events like GovHack have played a vital role alongside those managed by the Foundation. However, we’ve observed that the 4-week confirmation time has caused last-minute rushes for proposals, which this well-planned budget should help avoid.

We trust ADPC, Disruption Joe, and Entropy to smoothly transition the responsibility of organizing these events to the OpCo once it is fully operational.

Before we move to Tally, we have one point that needs clarification. Regarding the service providers, will they need a Snapshot vote to get funds approved by the DAO, or will members be able to approve the funds directly? Understanding this process will help ensure third-party providers stay motivated to organize events for the DAO.

We are voting FOR this proposal in Tally.

With the transparency the Foundation has shown over the past year, we believe these funds will help the Arbitrum ecosystem grow in the Layer 2 landscape.

Rest our overall thoughts remain the same as expressed in our rationale during the Snapshot voting.

We agree that the best gateway to the DAO is through the Foundation, as highlighted in the following statement from the proposal:

Gateway to DAO. The DAO has previously contributed to onboarding partners via programs like STEP, however, the experience has been that most institutions are not inclined toward engaging and participating in public forums, and even when they do it is after extensive conversations with The Arbitrum Foundation and its service providers, who are making them aware of the opportunities and encouraging them to get involved. As front line enablers, The Arbitrum Foundation actively builds relationships with partners and encourages all partners to engage with the DAO. Most recent examples include Securitize (via BlackRock BUIDL) and Franklin Templeton.

With the transparency the Foundation has provided to the DAO over the past year, we are confident the funds will help the Arbitrum ecosystem grow in the Layer 2 landscape. L2 on Ethereum shall look to grow the entire pie, but who gets what portion of the pie will be decided by the teams working behind each rollup. These funds will definitely provide the required boost in capturing a larger share of the pie.

We would like to recommend Transparency Reports for strategic partnerships over $2 million to give the community better clarity.

Additionally, we support the suggestion from @thedevanshmehta and @JoJo about creating an oversight council to act as an ombudsman for further accountability.

We are voting FOR this proposal in Tally voting.

The perspective shared by us during the temp check remains unchanged, and support for this proposal continues. The idea of focusing the online event on defining the DAO’s priorities for the next six months is interesting and we’re open to trying it.

Additionally, this initiative could open new doors for more structured collaboration within the DAO, helping identify key focus areas that may have been overlooked. It also presents a valuable opportunity to engage a broader group of participants, fostering more inclusive and diverse discussions on the DAO’s strategic direction.

Lampros Labs DAO supports this proposal to upgrade the RARI token contract and transition its governance into the Arbitrum ecosystem. This is a positive step that will onboard another community into the Arbitrum network, contributing to the overall growth and development of the ecosystem. We believe this alignment between the RARI DAO and Arbitrum DAO will be mutually beneficial for both communities.

As we said before, Lampros Labs DAO supports upgrading the RARI token contract and moving its governance to the Arbitrum ecosystem. We think this will help bring another community into Arbitrum, which is good for everyone.

It’s great to see that the Arbitrum Foundation has started a technical audit of the code that will make this happen. We still believe this will be good for both RARI DAO and Arbitrum DAO, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it all works out.
