Yes, gaming has potential, and I’m all for exploring emerging verticals. But let’s be real: gaming is not yet a proven use-case on-chain. DeFi is. It’s the foundation of Arbitrum’s early success, and the primary reason why the ecosystem gained traction in the first place.
Arbitrum used to be a premier hub for DeFi, but that position is now being seriously challenged by other L2s — Base, Unichain, and Ink are all moving fast and aggressively targeting DeFi users and developers. If Arbitrum wants to maintain and grow its lead, we need to double down on this vertical. That means dedicated funding, ecosystem support, and real long-term strategy — not just one-off incentives.
