0xTALVO.ETH_MTY Delegate Communication Thread

November 2024

Partner with ETH Bucharest 2025 - Eastern Europe’s Leading Ethereum Conference and Hackathon
Thanks for putting this forward. I think it’s important to keep these events going as they provide valuable networking opportunities for members and delegates. If we can bring in external sponsors to help cover costs, we could make the event even more exciting. As someone suggested, partnering with other regional events would be a great way to expand the Arbitrum community.

Designing and Operating the Reporting and Information Function
I think it’s always a good idea to have someone taking notes on the most relevant points discussed in our bi-weekly calls. We shouldn’t let that information slip away, and organizing it would make our workflow and data capture more efficient. As you mentioned AlexLumley , it would create a vast database of information for the marketing team. I’m looking forward to seeing these final adjustments to the processes and workflows. I’ll cast my vote in favor on Snapshot and hope to join the December call to learn more about how this proposal will be implemented.

[Non-consitutional] User Research: Why do people even build on Arbitrum, anyway?
I see no reason not to support this proposal. I believe it is necessary to periodically conduct surveys or in-person focus groups with key figures who can provide valuable insights on improving Arbitrum. The one-on-one interviews could help gather information, but bringing many people to the table could spark highly valuable conversations that provide better clarity on what needs improvement and what we might be doing wrong. That said, my vote on Snapshot also includes SOL and OP, as this will offer a broader perspective, resulting in more comprehensive research.

[Non-consitutional] User Research: Why do people even build on Arbitrum, anyway?
I think it would be a good idea Larva ; that would help us identify critical points. Having a conversation with them would bring Arbitrum back to their radar and encourage them to consider returning to evaluate the improvements that have been implemented in a future.

[NON-CONSTITUTIONAL] - Arbitrum Research and Development Collective [Term 2]
I also cast my vote in favor on Tally with the same reason as temp-check. Forum post link

Establishing a DAO Events Budget for 2025
I voted in favor on Tally for the reason I mentioned during temp-check:
“Setting aside funds for events helps Arbitrum stay active in the most important crypto spaces, which keeps the community growing and engaged. I also believe that involving the AF and OCL helps unify the community and prevents conflicting events. It really brings people together and keeps everyone on the same page, which makes the Arbitrum community much stronger.”

[Non-Constitutional] [RFC] Arbitrum D.A.O. (Domain Allocator Offerings) Grant Program - Season 3
Thank you JoJo for bringing forward the new program! I’m fully in support of continuing. It will bring great ideas that ultimately benefit and bring life to the project. I think it’s very positive to include Orbit given the amount of support it’s received from the Arbitrum community. I’m glad to see fewer abandoned projects in Season 2, which is a good sign that things are on the right track.
I’d like to recommend “Kick” as a new platform in the gaming area that is currently being used a lot, without forgetting Facebook Gaming which also has a large user base.

Hackathon Continuation Program
I have given my support on Snapshot to this proposal because of what I mention before…I think it offers a good structure that will help ensure hackathon projects turn into real solutions that benefit Arbitrum ecosystem. When you divide the program into developing and validating, you increase the chances of success because you only allocate more resources to the projects that will address the actual needs. This design encourages the use of funds wisely over a lengthy period of time. Also, RnDAO and Arbitrum working together helps to combine efforts and gives everyone guidance, stuff, and connections apart from the money.

Proposal for Financial Restitution For ArbitrumDAO Grant Winners
I just cast my vote in favor on Snapshot for the following reason:
I empathize with the challenges caused by the market correction… it’s a situation I can relate to. I believe we need new procedures in place to prevent similar issues from arising in the future, as setbacks like this can discourage participants. While I don’t know the specifics of why payments were delayed, I support finding a solution that benefits everyone involved.

[NON-CONSTITUTIONAL] Arbitrum Onboarding V2: A Governance Bootcamp
Thank you for the proposal. I believe that we should all have the same opportunities to participate in these programs. It would be a good idea to open the workshops to the public so that anyone who wants to learn about the ecosystem can have access. This project could be linked to the delegate program. Having completed the 6 weeks of the workshop could grant the user an emblem and this could represent a significant score when counting participation.
I believe that the team behind this proposal is very active in the forum and that generates confidence in me.

Change to New Governance Contracts that Allow Proposal Cancellation
I think it’s necessary to have the ability to cancel proposals. This will allow us to correct mistakes or adapt to changing circumstances more quickly. Also, clearly documenting the changes and motivations in the governance forums will generate more trust in the proposal development process.I suppose this will help prevent the [Cancelled] tag on Tally and Snapshot, which helps new users avoid confusion with the voting process.I’m just not entirely clear on the flexible voting; could you explain what this means?

[Non-Constitutional] Treasury Management v1.2
I just voted against the proposal on Snapshot. I believe we started on the wrong foot by involving individuals with questionable track records. This raises concerns and fear about the management of funds being entrusted to them. I feel there exists capable members within the community to handle such an important responsibility. Hope we can discuss this further in the community call to gain greater clarity before this proposal moves to Tally for consideration.

Proposal for Financial Restitution For ArbitrumDAO Grant Winners
Thank you for presenting this proposal. I am sorry that the market correction is causing great difficulty — I can totally relate. We should have new procedures to stop this from happening again. Participants can be discouraged by these setbacks. Even though I don’t know why payments were delayed, I do think a solution that benefits everyone can be applied. I hope you can find the delegate to have the enough voting power.

Hackathon Continuation Program
I think this proposal is a good answer to making sure that projects that do well in hackathons turn out to be useful things in Arbitrum. This setup of splitting the program into a validation phase and a development phase improves the success probability of each project. Only those projects that show real needs will receive further funding and capacity. The way they designed it helps fund use to be more efficient for long-term sustainability. Also, the partnership between RnDAO and Arbitrum helps in more cooperation as well as sustainability on the platform, which helps participants not just with money but with mentors, resources, and networks.

**Mission: Activate the Arbitrum community and market Arbitrum DAO - Arbitrum Fellowships proposal)
This is a very good proposal, and I fully support its implementation. First of all, I’m delighted to meet the Marketing (Social Media) team behind the Arbitrum accounts. I’ve seen some of you active in the forum (like Tekr0x.eth ), but I didn’t know you were part of the team. I appreciate your activity on X/Twitter; I’ve received notifications and attended spaces where I’ve learned about the ecosystem and expanded my list of contacts who contribute to Arbitrum in various ways.I’d like to mention a few important points:
I think it’s important that based on the surveys you conducted with foundation members, you’ve reached these conclusions and agreed to carry out this 3-month project. A “focus group” activity could also have helped gather information in a dialogue setting. Together with feedback from marketing experts, a more extensive list of objectives could be extracted.I believe the marketing team should be the one to define the community name, although “Arbinauts” could be a good option. I like that lends itself well to giving the brand its own identity. I think a very attractive branding can be achieved.Within the team, it would be good to include a producer and a video editor to create informative reels for social media. If you open a vacancy, I’d love to support you on that side, everything related to implementing a “Digital Marketing” strategy. This would undoubtedly help reinforce the brand’s identity and make Arbitrum’s branding more noticeable.I understand that measurable results can be obtained in 3 months, but I would love to have a vote before the end of the project to assess whether it’s essential to continue the activity on social media. These activities and positions should be permanent to maintain a consistent line in everything related to Arbitrum marketing.

OpCo – A DAO-adjacent Entity for Strategy Execution
Supporting this makes sense because the OpCo, if implemented correctly, could enhance the DAO’s operational efficiency by providing structure and oversigh. However, to protect decentralization, transparency mechanisms must be robust to prevent power consolidation.

Clear roles, reporting systems, and accountable oversight by the Operational Audit Team (OAT) will be essential for maintaining alignment with the DAO’s strategic direction without compromising decentralized principles.

[RFC]: Fund Completion of CEX-> DEX Incentive Research
I think it’s a great idea to focus on addressing a critical shift in the derivatives market: from CEX to DEX. I appreciate that the proposal not only includes specific challenges facing this transition, such as rigidity in incentives and a lack of integration between CeFi and DeFi, but also presents a detailed structure to develop network-level incentives.

Proposal: Add Support for EIP-4788
Good proposal!I believe that the implementations in EigenLayer and ZK-co-processors will contribute to the sustainable growth of the Ethereum ecosystem. Together, these tools enhance Ethereum’s scalability, improve developer flexibility, and reduce resource use, fostering a more robust ecosystem. This proposal positions Arbitrum as a leader in innovative L2 solutions, supporting its commitment to Ethereum scalability and providing essential tools for developers. Do you consider a gradual implementation of this EIP necessary to optimize stability and reduce potential interoperability conflicts with other chains?

[Non-Constitutional] Arbitrum DAO Delegate Code of Conduct + Formalizing the DAO’s Operations
I’ve just cast my FOR vote on Snapshot. As I mentioned before, establishing a code of conduct for this crucial role is essential. Ideally, regular updates would help ensure that delegates remain mindful of Arbitrum’s values and the responsibility entrusted to us.
