Ongoing Onchain Proposals
1. DeFi Renaissance Incentive Program (DRIP) (Voting ends June 19)
DRIP proposes a new framework for incentives. Rather than focusing on specific protocols, DRIP will focus on assets and activities on Arbitrum through targeted 3-month “seasons” - each with a singular, measurable goal.
It seeks up to 80M ARB for the first four seasons (up to 20M per season).
Based on the learnings of previous incentive programs, it emphasizes high-growth, high-retention activities, controlled experimentation and clear incentive criteria.
The Season Selection Committee (SSC) will comprise of the Arbitrum Foundation, Entropy Advisors, and Offchain Labs, will be tasked with season design, management, modification, as well as selection of distribution and evaluation partners.
Upcoming Onchain Proposals
1. [Constitutional] AIP: Constitutional Quorum Threshold Reduction (Voting starts June 20)
This AIP puts forward a reduction of the constitutional quorum threshold by 0.5%, lowering it from 5% to 4.5% of the total Arbitrum votable tokens.
The goal is to ensure that well-supported proposals can successfully conclude by aligning quorum requirements with current levels of voter participation, reducing the risk of legitimate initiatives failing due to quorum thresholds not being met.
2. [CONSTITUTIONAL] Register the Sky Custom Gateway contracts in the Router (Voting starts June 20)
Note: read the post-mortem on the previously-submitted erroneous proposal here.
This constitutional proposal seeks to improve user experience by updating Arbitrum’s Router configuration to register the Sky Custom Gateways for USDS and sUSDS tokens, enabling users to bridge USDS and sUSDS through the official Arbitrum Bridge UI.
The Arbitrum Router contracts maintain a list of gateways that the Arbitrum Bridge UI relies on when bridging tokens.
Because USDS and sUSDS tokens are not currently on this list, users are currently unable to use the Arbitrum Bridge UI to transfer USDS and sUSDS to Arbitrum, which this proposal aims to change.
Snapshots
1. Updating the OpCo Foundation’s Operational Capability (Voting ends June 19)
In the course of OAT’s work, a number of restrictions were identified that may hinder the OpCo’s ability to fulfil its mission. Several fixes are being proposed to:
enable the OpCo to voluntarily enter service agreements with service providers or individual contributors using discretionary funding available to help access additional resources to fulfil its mandate to the DAO,
help fix the compensation structure for OpCo employees to be in line with industry standards and relax restrictions for OAT council elections to enable attracting more candidates who have the interests of Arbitrum in mind.
2. Let’s improve our governance forum with three proposals.app feature integrations (Voting ends June 19)
Proposals.app team proposes a formal collaboration with Arbitrum DAO to enhance the usability of the governance forum. The following features would be added and maintained for a year for a total sum of $60,000:
Live Votes – Show the live or latest vote at the top of the page for each forum topic in the proposals category
Voting Power Tags – Show the voting power of each delegate, under their username, for every comment on the forum
Proposal Notification Emails – Provide a way for forum visitors to subscribe to email notifications, receiving an email every time a new discussion is started, when an offchain or onchain vote begins, and when its voting period is nearing completion.
