24 June 2025 - Roundup of Active/Upcoming Votes

Ongoing Onchain Proposals :ballot_box:

1. [Constitutional] AIP: Constitutional Quorum Threshold Reduction (Voting ends July 3)

This AIP puts forward a reduction of the constitutional quorum threshold by 0.5%, lowering it from 5% to 4.5% of the total Arbitrum votable tokens.

:small_blue_diamond: The goal is to ensure that well-supported proposals can successfully conclude by aligning quorum requirements with current levels of voter participation, reducing the risk of legitimate initiatives failing due to quorum thresholds not being met.

2. [CONSTITUTIONAL] Register the Sky Custom Gateway contracts in the Router (Voting ends July 3)

This constitutional proposal seeks to improve user experience by updating Arbitrum’s Router configuration to register the Sky Custom Gateways for USDS and sUSDS tokens, enabling users to bridge USDS and sUSDS through the official Arbitrum Bridge UI.

:small_blue_diamond: The Arbitrum Router contracts maintain a list of gateways that the Arbitrum Bridge UI relies on when bridging tokens.

:small_blue_diamond: Because USDS and sUSDS tokens are not currently on this list, users are currently unable to use the Arbitrum Bridge UI to transfer USDS and sUSDS to Arbitrum, which this proposal aims to change.

Ongoing Temperature Checks :high_voltage:

1. [Constitutional] AIP: Remove Cost Cap on Arbitrum Nova (Voting ends June 26)

This constitutional proposal aims to remove the Amortized Cost Cap, which is expected to result in higher gas fees for users on Arbitrum Nova.

:small_blue_diamond: This increase in gas fees is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the network and reduce the financial burden on the Arbitrum Foundation which currently subsidizes the costs of using Arbitrum Nova.
:small_blue_diamond: Given the diminishing relevance of Nova due to the rise of Orbit chains, and the evolving Layer 2 landscape which has reduced the cost difference between Nova and Arbitrum One (through the introduction of EIP-4844), lifting this cap will prevent inefficiencies and unnecessary constraints on network operations.

2. Arbitrum Treasury Management Council - Consolidating Efforts (Voting ends June 26)

This proposal aims to phase out the TMC, GMC, and STEP committees and replace them with the Arbitrum Treasury Management Council, to enhance the cohesion and effectiveness of the DAO’s treasury management strategy.

:small_blue_diamond: Arbitrum Treasury Management Council comprises of a Voting Body (OAT), an Execution Body (Entropy), and a Communications Body (Entropy until OpCo is operationalized); while the Arbitrum Foundation will custody the funds, Offchain Labs will flag any BD efforts that may conflict with fund allocations, and delegates will approve high-level strategies and capital allocations to the council.
:small_blue_diamond: The remaining balances to pay the previous treasury management-related councils/committees will be repurposed to cover external service providers’ costs.
