Arbitrum DAO at ETHWarsaw 2025

ETHWarsaw 2025 is coming up this September. Since 2022, they’ve had a steady crowd of around 1,000 people at the conference and 150 hackers each year. Similar size to ETH Bucharest or ETH Milan.

Several Arbitrum delegates, service providers, and builders have already expressed plans to attend, so I’m starting this thread to help us coordinate and connect.

In-person meetups are rare and valuable. I’d love for us to organize an informal dinner for Arbitrum DAO delegates and Arbitrum friends on the evening of September 4th (Thursday).

Official Arbitrum Sponsorship of ETHWarsaw (TBD)

There is currently a proposal under review to support ETHWarsaw 2025 through the Arbitrum DAO Grant Program. A final decision is expected by mid-August.

If approved, this would open the door for deeper Arbitrum involvement at the event, including talks, panels, an Orbit workshop, hackathon bounties, and a presence at the Arbitrum booth.

Update

ETHWarsaw got Questbook D.A.O. grant

ETHWarsaw has been awarded a Questbook D.A.O. grant under “Arbitrum Education, Community Growth, and Events 3.0.” The grant is worth $17,910 and will be delivered in three milestones.

Key deliverables include:

  • Arbitrum speaker slots during the conference
  • Participation in the hackathon
  • An Arbitrum-themed Chill Out room
  • Pre- and post-conference online promotion (e.g., Twitter Spaces)

Arbitrum representatives

Arbitrum will be represented at ETHWarsaw by @Tekr0x.eth, @TempeTechie , @krst and @Mateusz (Arbitrum Foundation). Together, we will host two speaker slots and one roundtable. We’ll also be available to meet and discuss Arbitrum-related topics with attendees throughout the event.

Arbitrum DAO Morning Run – POAP for Runners

The Arbitrum DAO Morning Run is gaining strong interest at ETHWarsaw and is currently the only official sports event. So far, we have 80+ signups, and based on past experience, we expect 20-30 runners to join on the day.

This week, we finalized the POAP and distribution method. Huge thanks to Gabo from the POAP team for his support. The POAP now has a complete design, including title, description, and artwork. The POAP will be available via geo-location minting right after the run and will be minted on the Arbitrum One chain. Here’s a preview:

Arbitrum DAO Delegates Dinner

Since only a smaller group of Arbitrum contributors will attend, we won’t formally schedule the Arbitrum dinner. Instead, we’ll decide on the time and place during the event. There will be plenty of opportunities to connect informally and enjoy some good food together. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Report

Last week, a few of us attended the ETHWarsaw conference. It is the biggest conference in Poland. You could feel that Poland has a very vibrant crypto community and the event itself was very well organized.

The venue was mid-sized and manageable, and organizers reported around 700 attendees over two days, along with several side events during Warsaw Blockchain Week.

At the start of the conference, organizers shared updates about the future of ETHWarsaw. The event, in its current format, will probably not continue next year due to the amount of work required and limited funding, as much of it depends on volunteer efforts. Instead, the team plans to open a web3 coworking and event space to host smaller, more frequent gatherings.

They have also applied to host DevCon 2026 in Warsaw: https://forum.devcon.org/t/proposed-location-warsaw-poland/7914

ETHWarsaw Questbook D.A.O. grant

ETHWarsaw received a Questbook D.A.O. grant under “Arbitrum Education, Community Growth, and Events 3.0.” The grant amount was $17,910.

The key deliverables included Arbitrum speaker slots during the conference, participation in the hackathon, an Arbitrum-themed Chill Out room, and pre- and post-conference online promotion such as Twitter Spaces.

Some deliverables are still pending, such as post-conference promotion. The ETHWarsaw team is expected to share a more detailed report on KPIs, particularly around the hackathon, in the coming week.

Arbitrum DAO had notable visibility at the event. In addition to logos on standard materials (website, prints, screens, etc.), there was an Arbitrum Chill Out room and customized merch bags.

However, Arbitrum DAO did not have a booth at the event, which was replaced by the Chill Out room.

Arbitrum representatives

Arbitrum was represented at ETHWarsaw by @Tekr0x.eth, @TempeTechie, @krst, and @Mateusz from the Arbitrum Foundation. Together, we gave two talks, joined one roundtable, and we were available to meet with attendees to discuss Arbitrum-related topics throughout the event.

Mateusz presented “ArbitrumDAO – a System for Resilient Decision Making,” while Tekr0x.eth delivered a talk titled “Mini Apps Are The New Playground (Also, Build on Arbitrum).”

Krzysztof Urbański, delegate and Governance Lead at L2Beat, also participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Are We There Yet? State of Onchain Infrastructure and Tooling.”

In addition, Urbe Campus, a developer community from Rome, ran a workshop called “Introduction to Arbitrum Stylus: Writing High-Performance Smart Contracts with Rust and Cursor AI.” This workshop was part of the D.A.O. grant, and a more detailed report is expected from the ETHWarsaw team.

The full agenda is available here: https://www.ethwarsaw.dev/agenda. Video recordings of the talks are expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Arbitrum DAO Morning Run

On the last day of the conference, I organized an Arbitrum DAO Morning Run. It was the only recreational activity during Warsaw Blockchain Week and was well received by participants. Fifteen runners took part and completed the run.

At the finish, all participants were able to mint a POAP via geo-location minting on the Arbitrum One chain. Afterward, a few of us went for coffee together. A short vlog from one of the participants can be found here: https://x.com/queen_oddspades/status/1964228246502851016
