Arbitrum LATAM Report - October 2024
Summary
With the recent approval to continue the project through Q4 2024, the Arbitrum LATAM team has focused on expanding educational partnerships. This includes establishing the first collaboration with a university in Chile, securing partnerships for 2025 with universities in Uruguay and Colombia, and building on our existing collaborations in Argentina. Alongside these efforts, the team has continued producing educational and informative content for the Latin American Arbitrum community while laying the groundwork for next year’s initiatives.
University Collaborations
ITBA University – Blockchain Class
On October 24 our team participated in a Blockchain class at ITBA University. The class was focused on Ethereum and Layer 2 solutions, with a special emphasis on the technical workings of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), EIP-1559, and its impact on gas fees. We discussed Ethereum’s strategy for transaction scaling and introduced Arbitrum’s rollup solutions, including Arbitrum One, Arbitrum Nova, and Orbit Chains, as essential parts of the scalability landscape.
