Proposal: [NON-CONSTITUTIONAL] Arbitrum Onboarding V2: A Governance Bootcamp

Vote: FOR
Type: On-Chain
Rationale: We voted in support of this proposal during the snapshot vote based on the rationale here.

While several concerns have been raised regarding the program’s cost and retention of fellows, we nonetheless believe this proposal is a worthy experiment for the DAO to fund. During our Governance Brunch at EthDenver (organized in collaboration with L2BEAT and Tally) we polled >65 DAO and governance leaders (including many from ArbitrumDAO and the AF) to identify the biggest challenges facing DAOs.

Contributor engagement emerged as one of the most pressing issues, second only to decentralization and effective governance structures. While the results of this exercise may be anecdotal, they highlight the critical importance of onboarding and attracting new talent for DAOs, Arbitrum inclusive. To date, no other viable solutions addressing this challenge have been proposed to the DAO. Instead, other efforts / groups have emerged to either take on or establish structures (e.g., OpCo) for internalizing critical functions, arguably narrowing pathways for external contributors.

Given this context, @RikaGoldberg’s proposal stands out as the only significant effort directly tackling this issue. We acknowledge that the costs could have been optimized further or the number of fellows increased, but in our view, the proposal’s potential benefits outweigh its shortcomings. For these reasons, we maintain our original position and will vote FOR the onchain proposal.

Proposal: Tally | Arbitrum | [CONSTITUTIONAL] - Adopt Timeboost + Nova Fee Sweep

Vote: FOR
Type: On-chain
Rationale: We voted in support of this proposal during the snapshot vote and expressed our rationale here. Our position has remained unchanged and we will be voting FOR the onchain proposal.

Proposal: [CONSTITUTIONAL] Proposal: For Arbitrum DAO to register the Sky Custom Gateway contracts in the Router

Vote: FOR
Type: Off-chain
Rationale: This proposal essentially seeks to enable bridging of USDS and sUSDS tokens through the official Arbitrum bridge UI. We are in support of this proposal because it seeks to create a seamless experience for Arbitrum users seeking to access Spark/Sky products, while bearing no costs or risks to the DAO. We’re happy to see stronger alignment between both ecosystems who are leaders in their respective verticals.

Proposal: [NON-CONSTITUTIONAL] Arbitrum Audit Program

Vote: ABSTAIN
Type: On-chain
Rationale: We are fully in support of this initiative by the foundation. Having laid the groundwork for this initiative through our work on the Arbitrum Security Subsidy Fund (SSF) as ADPC members, its exciting to see it being made a core pillar of Arbitrum’s builder support strategy. We believe that security is a critical need for any crypto ecosystem and subsidizing audits is an effective way to incentivize builder participation for Arbitrum. The results of the SSF are a testament to this.

Although we fully support this proposal, we will be voting ABSTAIN in line with our customary practice of voting neutrally on proposals or initiatives where we have an interest. Otherwise, we encourage other delegates and DAO members to vote in support.
