Delegate Dojo - peer to peer learning sessions for delegates

Title - Delegate Dojo

Non-Constitutional

Abstract
A regular 1-hour, every 2-weeks opt-in peer to peer learning session for delegates new, emerging and established delegates to share how to be an excellent delegate.

Motivation
As a new delegate in the DIP program I want to learn to do this role well, there are many others in the same boat. This is a structure to support peer learning in the competencies of being a Delegate.

Rationale
Unfortunately it looks like now with the Governance Bootcamp not likely to pass, there is no where to go for education, guidance. I’m happy to facilitate, and suggest @SEEDGov with their role facilitating the DIP would be well placed to co-host this.

Relevant background comment and commitment to capability building in the DAO in my here:

Specifications
Video call for delegates - facilitated peer to peer learning session

Steps to Implement
I will kickstart the work of gathering learning material for delegates now at a low effort, low risk opt-in way with regular Delegate Dojo sessions. This will live on the Arbitrum calendar as an optional opportunity and will be recorded.

Timeline
Start within 2 weeks, session every 2 weeks, for 3 months duration

Overall Cost
0

Love this idea! Thanks for posting. I have a marketing & ops background, so if I can be of any help with coordination, I would love to help!

Also, would you consider using Huddle01, which I think @paulofonseca was alluding to to livestream?

Thank you, I’d love to have you involved.

Yes I am up for using Huddle01, @ayushranjan @paulofonseca practically how would we go about doing this?

Great, can you share a bit about your journey to being a delegate, goals, challenges?

Note, I’ll do a wider version of this requirements gathering but for now if you are willing to share this would help me shape things up.

I.e. are you already in the DIP, wanting to be?
What are your goals, areas you find challenging and wanting to get better at?
Areas you are already good at and would be open to teach others?

This is a very thoughtful and genuinely helpful idea — especially the fact that you propose offering it for free shows your true intention to contribute and support the community!

Although I’m still a new member of the DAO, my professional experience as a teacher has already made me aware of similar needs. Unfortunately, I won’t be available to actively help until the end of May due to time constraints. However, if you consider continuing this later on, I’d be happy to support in any way I can, even if my experience is low and my knowledge around the DAO is still growing.

In any case, if you decide to move forward with it right away, I wish you the best of luck in bringing this valuable and creative idea to life!

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on how this develops. I had been hoping to be able to participate in the aforementioned bootcamp, so it was a little disappointing to see it get rejected.

Well, hard to be against anything that is zero cost!

Pretty cool idea. It would be great if the sessions were recorded so they could be evergreen training material - maybe AF or the DAO has a google drive for this?

If topics could be around key topics it could be really useful for both any liver participants and delegates in general as a learning resource.

Support this a lot and happy to chat here or tg further about it.

This seems a very valuable initiative; thanks for proposing it, @KlausBrave.

As there are different ways and styles to be a valuable delegate for the DAO, it would be interesting to have a “case study” presentation or interview with high contributors with different styles (e.g. JoJo, L2Beat and Reverie are all in the top 5 of the February DIP, while having different approaches to the delegate role).
