Dennis Stücken - Candidate for Security Council Elections - March 2025

Hey everyone!

My name is Dennis, I am the CTO of Blockworks and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Arbitrum Security Council.

With a strong background in software engineering, product development, security, and a deep love for DeFi, Ethereum and Layer-2s, I’m excited to help secure the Arbitrum ecosystem and make it even stronger.

Professional Background

Over the past two decades, I’ve been a serial entrepreneur and engineering executive, specializing in full-stack development and product innovation. I’m a tech wizard, fluent in multiple programming languages and platforms like JavaScript & TypeScript, Solidity, Swift, Objective-C, C#, C++, PHP, Python, Golang, and comfortable with all cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud and Azure.

Since I’ve always been involved in the entire lifecycle of the software products I worked on, I have a deep understanding of the entire stack. My expertise includes securing backend systems, scaling them to handle millions of users, and adhering to UX and frontend design principles.

Motivation for Joining the Security Council

I’ve been in the crypto space since 2017 and have been an active DeFi user and developer on Ethereum. A passion for innovation, security, software development and decentralized technologies have been the driving forces behind my journey. Joining the Arbitrum Security Council feels like the perfect opportunity to put my skills and experiences to good use, ensuring the integrity and security of the Arbitrum network.

Relevant Experience

In my current role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Blockworks, I oversee all kinds of tech, product and security operations. The products I built at Blockworks have grown to serving millions of monthly active users at its peak, with network requests in the hundreds of millions a month. We face daily DDoS and other security attacks, but thanks to our robust security measures, we’ve managed to keep our operations running smoothly with an uptime of over 99.99%.

My 22 years of experience include:

• Developing enterprise software solutions, networking infrastructures, mobile applications, APIs, and both Web2 and Web3 applications.

• DevOps and infrastructure design

• Indexing blockchains (EVM, Bitcoin, Solana and others), building crypto data analytics handling 300+ TB of crypto data

• Contributing to and authoring numerous Ethereum smart contracts.

Alignment with Security Council Responsibilities

I’m committed to upholding the ArbitrumDAO Constitution and acting in the best interests of the Arbitrum ecosystem.

My diverse professional experiences give me a unique perspective on the council. I prioritize security best practices, including using dedicated hardware wallets for council activities.

I’m always available and responsive, especially during emergencies and will keep the community informed about important actions. Will always be proactive in collaborating with fellow council members and participating in security drills and events.

My technical background allows me to assess and address complex situations effectively. My experience with security incidents gives me the skills and discretion to handle challenges well and with professionalism.

Potential Conflicts of Interest

As CTO of Blockworks, a media, information and data company, I lead our engineering teams in developing research, media, and analytics products. I assure the community that this role does not present any conflicts of interest concerning my potential responsibilities on the Security Council.

Thanks for reading everyone, honored to be considered for this role!

Thank you for your request. I have a question:

  • I would like to have a link to your site, because there are several companies with the same name, engaged in crypto activities.
If this is a company at https://blockworks.one, then I see all 3 people there and you are not on this list. If this is another site, then please provide a link.

Hey @cp0x, of course, just edited the post to add a link. Thanks for flagging.
