SECTION 2: GRANT INFORMATION

Requested Grant Size: 100000 ARB

Grant Breakdown: As the landscape expands with numerous blockchains, L2 and L3 solutions, DeFi infrastructure gets more and more complex. With Arbitrum being the #1 L2 chain, the user is overwhelmed by the variety of choices to choose from - be it a DEX or a bridge.

With Rubic, users no longer have to roam across Web3 to compare rates and liquidity; they can make cross-chain and on-chain swaps of any available token to/from/on Arbitrum and other 70+ networks, including 30+ non-EVMs.

The list of providers for Arbitrum, which are integrated into Rubic:
Supported bridges: Arbitrum Bridge, Hop, Hyphen, Connext, XY Finance, Symbiosis, Squid, Stargate, DLN, ChangeNOW
DEXs: Uniswap V3, 1inch, SushiSwap, XY Dex, Balancer V2, 1inch Limit Order Protocol, 1inch Limit Order Protocol V2, DODO, DODO V2, Swapr, Curve, Curve V2, GMX, Synapse, Hashflow, Saddle Finance, KyberSwap Elastic, Kyber DMM Static, Aave V3.
More info on available networks/ bridges/ DEXs: https://docs.rubic.finance/rubic/supported-chains-bridges-and-dexs.

Rubic acts as a bridge and a DEX in one, connecting different blockchains and enabling frictionless swaps, thereby enhancing the accessibility and usability of the Arbitrum for the whole DeFi space.

The fundamental objective of this grant application is to facilitate bringing new users to the Arbitrum blockchain. The allocated tokens will be strategically deployed for the purpose of User Acquisition via marketing campaigns and collaboration with ecosystem partners.

Funding Address Characteristics: Multisig

Contract Address: NA

SECTION 3: GRANT OBJECTIVES AND EXECUTION

Objectives:

Our goal is to bring new users to Arbitrum via Rubic.
Overall, over 170K+ users have interacted with Rubic over time and performed 500K+ transactions. Our average monthly user base is 15-25K users.

Our strategy is to incentivize users to swap to/from Arbitrum and on Arbitrum via gas compensation and one-of-a-kind Rubic’s loyalty program named “SwapToEarn” (later in detail).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

The number of unique wallets - This metric assesses the extent to which users are leveraging the provided incentives to onboard into the Arbitrum ecosystem.

The number of new wallets that bridged funds into Arbitrum - These metrics allow us to create a list of new addresses that directly result from the incentivized bridge program.

Analysis of user transaction behavior - These metrics identify a program’s effectiveness. We will analyse the actions taken by users after bridging into Arbitrum in order to understand how much users allocate and utilize bridged funds.

Collaborating with other protocols - These metrics are vital to enhance the effectiveness of our program. We seek to establish partnerships that encourage a symbiotic relationship, driving greater success for all involved.

How will receiving a grant enable you to foster growth or innovation within the Arbitrum ecosystem?:

With additional funding, we aim to further boost our transaction numbers and volume, thereby enhancing the KPIs mentioned above (See Execution strategy).

Justification for the size of the grant:

Total Cross-Chain Swaps to and From Arbitrum in 2023 - 45715
Total On-Chain Swaps on Arbitrum in 2023 - 4651
Average gas fee in 2023 - $0.25
Cross-Chain Incentive - $2
On-Chain Incentive - $1

X+Y = grant size
Number of Transactions x avg gas fee per transaction = X
Number of Transactions x $ SwapToEarn incentive = Y

Cross-Chain: (45715 x 0.25) + (45715 x 2) = 102859
On-Chain: (4651 x 0.25) + (4651 x 1) = 5814
Total: 102859 + 5814 = 108673

We anticipate +30% growth for incentivized swaps on Arbitrum.

Execution Strategy: Rubic boasts of having a unique loyalty program Swap-to-Earn, where users get loyalty points for swaps: Rubic – Cross-Chain Tech Aggregator. Overall, over 60K+ users have participated in the program since its launch in April 2023.
Currently, the rewards are in RBC and are made for any on-chain and cross-chain swaps, however, there’s a functionality to incentivize swaps to/on/from a particular blockchain/ provider.

We suggest to incentivize users with gas fees compensation and a 2$ incentive in ARB for swapping to, from and on Arbitrum.

Grant Timeline:

We can aim for a launch within a few weeks of grant approval. The anticipated duration of campaigns and contests is about several months, although this may vary based on the volume of bridging activity.

Do you accept the funding of your grant streamed linearly for the duration of your grant proposal, and that the multisig holds the power to halt your stream? Yes

We include integrated networks into the cross-chain development toolkit to empower projects to expand their reach and capabilities interacting with other networks, attract new users.

Audit History:
Rubic’s Cross-Chain Protocol was successfully audited. We have no risk, we have the ability to shut off any of different bridges, any of different liquidity pools that were compromised.
Here’s the documentation that proves the fact - MixBytes Audit - Rubic Documents.
