Firstly, thank you for your proposal and your genuine enthusiasm for the Arbitrum ecosystem.

Introduction and Rationale

The proposal from Sanko Dream Machine aims to strengthen their multimedia-focused infrastructure protocol with a suite of games natively hosted on Arbitrum. Through their initiative to launch the Arbitrum Orbit Chain for cross-platform on-chain activity, they’re also targeting a more extensive engagement across social media and gaming. In a single paragraph, we’d say that Sanko Dream Machine’s commitment to hosting all their products on Arbitrum highlights the perfect alignment with our network’s goals. While the details regarding the requested grant size are missing, their approach to creating a more connected and engaged community through the Arbitrum Orbit Chain does hold promise.

Major Concerns

Concern Regarding Grant Size

  • Absence of specific grant size details
  • Lack of clarity on how the funds would be allocated
  • Our recommendation for change: We’d appreciate a detailed breakdown of the requested grant size in ARB and how the funds would be utilized.

Minor Concerns

  • Long-term sustainability of the Arbitrum Orbit Chain
  • Potential for user engagement beyond gaming
  • Our recommendation for change: Elaborate on how Sanko Dream Machine plans to maintain and grow the Arbitrum Orbit Chain, along with strategies for attracting a broader user base.

Summary

Castle Capital appreciates the efforts put forth by Sanko Dream Machine and the unique multimedia and gaming solutions they offer to the Arbitrum ecosystem. However, issues regarding the grant size and long-term sustainability need to be addressed.

Our recommendations can be summarized as follows:

  • Provide a detailed breakdown of the requested grant size in ARB
  • Include plans for the long-term sustainability of the Arbitrum Orbit Chain

We hope our comments will be seen as constructive feedback for the betterment of both Sanko Dream Machine and the wider Arbitrum ecosystem. Thank you again for your interest and proposal.

Blockworks Research supports this proposal but would prefer to see the requested amount come down from 500,000 ARB to 250,000 ARB based on, among other things, the anticipated sustainable impact on, and goodwill to, the ecosystem, metrics such as TVL / volume / fees on Arbitrum and overall, a comparative analysis of all submitted STIP proposals, the distribution of incentives across verticals, as well as, to a certain extent, the recommendations made by the Arbitrum Working Group through the four grant categories.

Hey @CastleCapital, thank you very much for the feedback.

The grant will be allocated to SankoTV users using a points system that is updated weekly to keep users engaged for the duration of the incentives period and ensure that they engage in good faith. Points will be awarded for performing on-chain interactions, including SankoTV Pass trading, gift-giving, and hosting popular streams in terms of gifts received and viewership metrics. Points will also be awarded to users who issue referral links to others who engage with the protocol by trading SankoTV Passes and streamers with top-value Passes by market cap each week.

At the end of the incentives period, ARB rewards will be distributed based on the user’s portion of points relative to the total amount of points distributed. For example, a user that has accrued 1% of the total points distributed will be rewarded with 1% of the ARB in the rewards pool, a user that has accrued 0.5% of the total points distributed will be rewarded with 0.5% of the ARB rewards pool, and so on.

To elaborate on Sanko’s plans to maintain and grow the Arbitrum Orbit Chain over time: rather than build a general purpose chain, Sanko plans to build amazing experiences at the intersection of gaming, social media, and finance that will attract a broad user base and large transaction counts. Arbitrum Orbit provides the flexible infrastructure necessary for our use case and independent projects deploying on our chain; the popularity of our applications will drive the sustainability of the Sanko Dream Machine and provide cheaper fees for users. The Sanko Dream Machine will achieve long-term sustainability by launching compelling games and products that appeal to many different kinds of users and attracting other innovative projects to launch within our ecosystem.

Hi @BlockworksResearch, thank you for your support!

We would greatly appreciate further insight into your request. We believe that SankoTV has the potential to generate significant impact and revenue for Arbitrum. Coinbase generated ~$200K profit/week from Base’s sequencer with most transaction volume originating with Friend Tech — SankoTV’s closest comparable. The initial factor driving the proliferation of FT transaction volume was the anticipation of an airdrop. Providing users with a substantial incentive to transact more than other users will, in turn, increase transaction volume and revenue for Arbitrum.

All Sanko applications are Arbitrum-based and SocialFi is mostly absent from the applicant pool. Additionally, the Sanko Dream Machine qualifies for the Siren grant category by TVL and time since launch. Providing SankoTV users with a significant incentive to transact on the platform at launch will help guarantee its success, and Arbitrum would benefit significantly from sustained activity on an application that generates high transaction volume.

The unveiling of different protocols and the creative ideas brought to life is a must see on Arbitrum. We support this grant as the ITU Blockchain delegation team. In light of the increase in TVL and the number of users, we hope that those web2 application concepts will be implemented in a decentralized and Web3 way.

Hi everyone! We’re excited to move forward with the STIP and grateful to the Arbitrum community for its support throughout this process. In the interest of transparency, we’d like to keep everyone apprised of a change in the multisig that will receive the STIP to be distributed. For disbursement purposes, the STIP will initially be directed to Sanko’s DAO Foundation multisig (0x3904F72Cb09CaB3Bd72d691d01cd360437fE164F), which will forward the ARB to the Sanko TV multisig listed in the proposal (0x233cfCFB0D57C7e44F6836918eB2cFDd0760b6ED).

Thank you to everyone who helped make Sanko TV’s STIP a reality
