TempeTechie.eth Delegate Communication Thread

JUNE 2025

SNAPSHOT (JUNE 2025):

Snapshot proposal: Adjust the Voting Power of the Arbitrum Community Pool & Ratify the Agentic Governance Pivot

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

Both the proposal author (L2Beat) and EventHorizon agree with reducing the delagted amount from 7M to 100k. The argument makes sense, the change will also reduce the quorum, so I had no issues voting for the proposal on Snapshot.

Snapshot proposal: Wind Down the MSS + Transfer Payment Responsibilities to the Arbitrum Foundation

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

I see valid points on both sides of the debate. On one hand we need better efficiency and communication, as well as accountability. On the other hand we could have other solutions laid out which would keep the benefits of decentralization that MSS provided. All in all, I think in this particular case the benefits of efficiency outweigh the need for decentralization, this is why I voted in favour of the proposal on Snapshot.

Snapshot proposal: Reallocate Redeemed USDM Funds to STEP 2 Budget

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

Pretty straightforward decision, the funds allocated to STEP 1 should remain in the STEP program (in v2) and keep accruing yield.

Snapshot proposal: Updating the OpCo Foundation’s Operational Capability

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

As Patrick explained in the call, the current OpCo rules have some limitations which handicap OpCo’s operational capabilities. I think we should approve these new changes (hence I voted in favor), and if we later realize we went too far, we can make another change and put some restrictions back.

Snapshot proposal: Let’s improve our governance forum with three proposals.app feature integrations

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

I voted FOR the proposal. Proposals.app is a great tool, forum integrations make sense, and the budget is very reasonable.

Snapshot proposal: Arbitrum Treasury Management Council - Consolidating Efforts

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

I voted FOR (mainly to unify all treasury efforts and make the whole operation more lean), but I echo some of the worries raised by cp0x in this reply. I hope they get addressed before the Tally vote.

Snapshot proposal: [Constitutional] AIP: Remove Cost Cap on Arbitrum Nova

Voted: FOR
Reasoning (link):

While I support removing the cap, I’m worried it won’t fix the real problems Nova is facing - not the technical ones, but the challenges with getting users and retention. It’s totally possible that (by the end of the year) we’ll be talking about shutting down Nova, just like Polygon recently announced for their zkEVM, which is set to shut down next year.

TALLY (JUNE 2025)

Tally proposal: DeFi Renaissance Incentive Program (DRIP)

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

I’m keeping my prior Snapshot vote in favor. Additionally, the added assurance of allowing the DAO to end the DRIP program via a Snapshot vote (with a 3% quorum and more votes for than against) definitely helps.

Tally proposal: [CONSTITUTIONAL] Register the Sky Custom Gateway contracts in the Router

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

The proposal was initially submitted with an error, that’s why I voted against on that first proposal. In the second proposal, the error was corrected. Sky (ex Maker) is one of the biggest stablecoin issuers, so I had no problem voting in favor of this proposal. I believe it’s going to benefit the DeFi ecosystem on Arbitrum.

Tally proposal: [Constitutional] AIP: Constitutional Quorum Threshold Reduction

Voted: FOR
Reasoning:

As mentioned in my Snapshot vote on this proposal last month, I consider lowering the quorum as a short-term solution. While I voted in favour on both Snapshot and Tally, I support researching a more sustainable solution, such as the idea of delegating some amount of tokens from the treasury to most active delegates.
