Web3 Warri Arbitrum Universities IRL Events 3.0 and Hacker House 2.0 Updates

Milestone 3 Report - The Arbitrum University Event 3.0 at the Delta State University - DELSU, Nigeria

Here’s a report of the web3 Warri @Arbitrum University event that held yesterday June 18, 2025 at the Delta State University, DELSU, Nigeria.

The event originally scheduled for Friday June 6, 2025 was postponed as a result of the national public holiday of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

We had an amazing time at the DELSU event sharing and bridging the gap between academia and the industry as we shared the knowledge of Arbitrum with 196 attendees.

And like it was at the University of Benin, we also had some faculty members of the Delta State University in attendance.

Attendance

Amongst some of the goals we set out to achieve at this event and in our proposal was to have a minimum attendance of 150 persons and a maximum of 200 persons comprising students, researchers, developers, and anyone interested in blockchain technology and Arbitrum.

We intentionally set out to use this third edition of the Arbitrum event to reiterate Arbitrum’s commitment to bridging the gap between the industry and academia.

We are thankful that we had a strong representation from the academic lecturing body and students from different disciplines joining us at the event.

What was most striking for us at the event was the recording of a substanital percentage of female representation.

Sessions covered

The sessions covered by the speakers and facilitators at the event:

  1. Blockchain technology
  2. Ethereum
  3. Arbitrum as the leading layer 2 scaling solution.
  4. Everything you need to know about Arbitrum
  5. Building on Arbitrum as a developer
  6. Contributing to Arbitrum and the ecosystem
  7. The Arbitrum Ambassadors program by Samuel from the Arbitrum Foundation.
  8. Announcing the upcoming hacker house - post Arbitrum University events.

A recurring theme of the Arbitrum University event is the curiosity (they came with their writing materials and questions), and the engagement from the attendees of the institutions. They engaged us like we experienced at the UNIBEN event.
