Milestone 4 Report - The Arbitrum University Event 3.0 at the University of Port Harcourt - UNIPORT, Nigeria
Here’s a report of the web3 Warri @Arbitrum University event that held yesterday July 16, 2025 at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.
The event originally scheduled for Tuesday July 15, 2025 was moved to Wednesday July 16, 2025 due to the sudden demise of the former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. This led to a declaration by the government of Nigeria for Tuesday, 15 July, 2025 as a Public Holiday In Honour Of Late Former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Though our third in the series of IRL Arbitrum-focused universities event, this was our first event at UNIPORT. And by extension, our expansion into the University and bringing the knowledge of Arbitrum to the university and a new state - Rivers State - in Nigeria.
The Event had 189 people in attendance, including representatives from the Dean of the Faculty of Computing, the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Senior Lecturers from the Faculty of Sciences, and a strong representation of faculty members from the University of Port Harcourt.
Pre-Event Campaigns
To hit the goal we set out for ourselves - a minimum of 150 attendees and a maximum of 200 attendees, we had to strategically run an intensive onsite publicity camoaign. Printing and distrubiting 1,500 phyiscal fliers in classrooms, including a special onsite campaign at one of the University of Port Harcourt fellowship.
