Aragon - March 2026 Security Council

Hello everyone,

I, Anthony Leuts.eth am pleased to announce our candidacy for the Arbitrum Security Council on behalf of Aragon. Since 2017, Aragon has been at the forefront of onchain permission-management, building the foundational infrastructure that enables networks to decentralize their ownership and accrue value to their tokens. We are users of Arbitrum having deployed our assets on the Arbitrum network in 2023. We also have a long list of clients including Lido, Curve, Morpho, Boundless, and Zama and perform security council services for Taiko and Spark. We are a battle-tested team of experts in security, smart-contract development, and governance with a stellar track record.

Aragon’s Extensive Security Track Record:
Security is not a feature at Aragon; it is our primary product. As the first-ever DAO framework, we have spent nine years securing billions of dollars across multiple products and networks.

  • Zero Exploits Since Inception: Since our mainnet launch in 2017, Aragon has never suffered a major hack or loss of funds. We have successfully secured assets for hundreds of projects.
  • Security-as-a-Service: Aragon has direct experience as security council member for Taiko, Aztec and Spark. We don’t just read code, we participate in economic, tokenomic, and security reviews.
  • Builders: The best security council members are those that have broad and deep knowledge of technology and business logic. We are builders first, having deployed dozens of protocols and tools securing tens of billions. Our services help fund the products we build which are often used as public goods. We are a team of 20+ innovators who bring different disciplines within our services.

Why Aragon for the Security Council?
The Security Council requires members who can act decisively under pressure, understand complex technical interactions, and prioritize the safety of user funds above all else.

  • Experience: We secure some of the world’s largest on-chain treasuries and protocols both from a technical perspective and operational perspective. We are always at the cutting-edge of security technology now actively testing AI-assisted and agent-based tooling to strengthen our and our users code bases.
  • Neutrality & Integrity: Aragon is a mission-driven project dedicated to neutral, open-source public goods. We bring a “code-as-law” philosophy that ensures decisions are made based on technical merit and the security of the network.
  • Full-stack: Our team is composed of experts in all types of development, tokenomics, and policy & advocacy. We are a Swiss based entity, with global employees, that are reliable; you don’t just get one independent security council member, you get our entire team.

Motivation:
Both security, tokenomics, and governance are intertwined and require experienced and pragmatic input. Aragon is the only other “DAO framework” in the industry besides the currently used OZ Governor. We bring a fresh perspective while still deeply understanding Arbitrum’s current tech-stack. We want to work with the most forward thinking and technologically advanced organisations and bring our own expertise to securing one of the most vibrant and important networks.

Conclusion:
Aragon has been an active user in the Ethereum and Arbitrum ecosystems since their respective launches. We believe our background in securing the world’s leading DAOs makes us a natural fit for the Arbitrum Security Council. We look forward to serving the Arbitrum DAO and ensuring the network remains the most secure L2 in the industry.
Disclosure: we are an active council member for Taiko L2, Aztec and Spark. We hold some Morpho tokens and ETH.

Aragon’s Tally profile for the election is live here.

Anthony, appreciate the proactive disclosure on Morpho holdingsthat’s the right approach. Two questions: First, you’re already serving on Taiko, Aztec, and Spark councils how do you handle bandwidth conflicts if two protocols face simultaneous emergencies? Second, given Aragon’s 2023 treasury transfer controversy with your own community, how should Arbitrum DAO evaluate your commitment to decentralized governance principles…………..? @MconnectDAO

What bandwidth conflicts? Aragon is a professional service provider of 23 experts generating millions in revenue. Being on 3 security councils poses no bandwidth problem. I’d suggest directing these questions to individuals applying to the security council.

This is to notify delegates that after successfully passing round one we have unfortunately decided to not move forward into round two with our candidacy.

Reason: we were not comfortable with the legal and privacy risks to our member.

We thank the Arbitrum Foundation team and delegates who supported us and look forward to hopefully participating in the future, Arbitrum is a fantastic project and has a fantastic ecosystem! We wish everyone the best of luck and of course will continue providing our services on Arbitrum!
