Creed - Candidate for Security Council Elections - March 2025

Hi Arbitrum Community,

Today, we are sharing Creed’s (https://thecreed.xyz/) intent to run for the March 2025 cohort of the Arbitrum Security Council. You may not have heard of us before, as we are a smaller, newer security team founded just 12 months ago by former Consensys Diligence auditors. We’d like to take this opportunity to share more about our team, mission, and why we believe we can make a meaningful contribution to the council.

We are founded and operate with three core principles:

  • Secure the foundations of an ecosystem in which people can flourish
  • Operate transparently in alignment with the community
  • Empower security professionals by granting them the freedom to contribute on their own terms, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive

Our team comprises four co-founders who would all be dedicated security council members. Given the depth of experience of everyone on our team, we all maintain exemplary security habits and can respond to emergencies as we are distributed across four different timezones (GMT +4, GMT, GMT +1, and GMT -4)

  • Gonçalo Sá - 8 years of security experience, Co-founder of ConsenSys Diligence and Creed, Technical Partner at Ethereal Ventures, and SEAL member
  • Shayan Eskandari - 6 years of security experience, Co-founder of Creed, PhD from Concordia University, former Head of Security at Puffer Finance, and Chief Technology Officer for Ether Capital
  • Valentin Quelquejay - 4 years of security experience, Co-founder of Creed, holds a Masters in Cybersecurity from EPFL & ETH Zürich
  • Dominik Muhs - 7 years of security experience, Co-founder of Creed, contributed to security tools such as Mythril and MythX, holds a degree in computer science

Since we formed we’ve stayed true to these core principles and accomplished significant wins in 12 months:

  • Successfully operated the Everclear Security Task Force providing code reviews, protocol upgrade assessments, bug bounty management, and governance security that have protected over $50M in TVL
  • Members of both the Everclear and Puffer.fi security councils
  • Completed (Creed DAO), threat modeling and penetration testing for notable projects including Across, Puffer Finance, Request Network, MetaMask, BakerFi, and OneBalance
  • Conducted security risk assessments for multiple projects in partnership with Turtle.club
  • Contributed to creating security standards for the industry through the Smart Contract Security Field Guide(https://scsfg.io/), web3 security events, contributions to open-source standards.

We’re proud of our work and running because we can extend our expertise to support the Arbitrum ecosystem. If elected to the Security Council, we pledge to:

  • Be reliable and timely in upholding all our responsibilities
  • Apply our collective expertise to support Arbitrum
  • Maintain transparent communication with the community
  • Remain vigilant and responsive to emerging threats in the ecosystem

Thank you for taking the time to read. We would be honored to earn your support.

I think this is a competent enough team to be a member of the Security Council

Couple of questions:

  • In About | Consensys Diligence says that Gonzalo is still part of the team.
Is he involved in two organizations at once?
  • Do you have enough time to combine work and the Security Council?
