SECTION 2: GRANT INFORMATION

Detail the requested grant size, provide an overview of the budget breakdown, specify the funding and contract addresses, and describe any matching funds if relevant.

Requested Grant Size: 50,000 $ARB

Grant Breakdown:
We aim to create two major in-game collaborative events with distinguished game partners on other blockchains to onboard new users/players. With the success of the previous Pixelmon World Boss event in onboarding newcomers (see stats below), we are planning to replicate the success with other prominent games on other chains.

World Boss Incentives (50,000 $ARB)
To incentivise players to engage with Tales of Elleria’s gameplay on Arbitrum One through attractive reward pools accompanying cross-chain partnerships, and by extension be exposed to the Arbitrum Ecosystem.

Funding Address:
0x69832Af74774baE99D999e7F74FE3F7d5833bF84

Funding Address Characteristics:
This is Tales of Elleria’s Multisig Gnosis Safe address, with 5 keys controlling the safe. Each key is given to a founder and one key is locked in a CISCO Safe-deposit Box as a backup. Transactions within the safe require a majority (¾) signature and approval.

Contract Address:
Reward Distribution Contract: 0x71001e0EA8Ea4C9fc99B187e695969FaBCCe1828

SECTION 3: GRANT OBJECTIVES AND EXECUTION
Clearly outline the primary objectives of the project and the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used to measure success. This helps reviewers understand what the project aims to achieve and how progress will be assessed.

Objectives:
Our primary goal of the grant is to expand the game’s player base while introducing new players to the Arbitrum ecosystem through special in-game events in collaboration with partners on other blockchains and convert them into actual players. These events, specifically the “World Boss” event, incentivize players/holders from partner projects to join our platform.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Recently, we had a collaboration with a prominent L1 NFT project called Pixelmon. We integrated their famous “Kevin” character IP into our game and acted as a World Boss. Through this event, Tales of Elleria managed to bring in more than 125 new players from Ethereum Mainnet into the Arbitrum ecosystem and players fought “Kevin” more than 5000 times within 2 weeks. In terms of retention, we saw a D-7 retention ratio of more than 50% during this event. This information is readily available by querying our GraphQL endpoints.

We are also open to considering other forms of KPIs set by the DAO and are willing to create analytics to monitor these KPIs. While most of the above mentioned statistics are in-game metrics, we can create dune dashboards to monitor on-chain data that identifies new-comers to Arbitrum who interacted with our shop or contract addresses (purchasing heroes, entry tickets, consumables, etc).

How will receiving a grant enable you to foster growth or innovation within the Arbitrum ecosystem?:
The grant will help us drastically as we are able to foster new collaborations more confidently through a major prize pool. We will use the grant as incentives to drive new players into the Arbitrum ecosystem. Not only that, we can utilize the grant to improve the overall user gaming experience.

Justification for the size of the grant:
The grant size that we are requesting includes a forecast for integrating IP for 2 of the biggest games among other chains (Currently in talks).

World Boss Incentive Reward Budget
We aim to apportion a 25,000 $ARB prize pool per campaign over 2 campaigns in 4 months. Both existing players and new users within and outside the Arbitrum ecosystem have shown the highest level of interest in our past “World Bosses”, planning to challenge the in-game leaderboard for rewards. From there, we will include a portion of the entry fee to grow the prize pool as more players participate. Overall, our past events with at least 10,000 USD prize pool saw the highest participation rate of over 5,000 entries and we intend to shatter past records with the 2 upcoming world bosses that we can introduce with this new $ARB grant.

We see a great opportunity to apply for the grant to continue to increase our player base while attracting new players to come into Arbitrum, as it ties very deeply with the interoperability concepts that we have succeeded in proving in the past.

Execution Strategy:
We have run 9 World Boss events before and we managed to hit our KPI every time, as such, we will utilize the grant in an efficient manner. Our marketing lead, YellowPanther, who is also a KOL in the gaming space with 90,000 followers on Twitter has many connections to games from different chains.

Currently, we aim to work with games from Avalanche and Ronin Network. We aim to push for new collaborations, in order to tap into their existing player base and convert them into new players in Arbitrum through our in-game special events.

We are confident in the execution strategy of targeting cross-platform games to bring users over as shown in the recent collaboration event with pixelmon that succeeded in onboarding new players. We fully intend to replicate, if not better, the favourable result of these campaigns.

Grant Timeline:
We aim to bring in two new World Boss Events from different games/IP in the next 4 months. Upon the confirmation of the grant, we will begin development for the first integration of IP by creating features and assets for the campaigns.

The estimated timeline of each campaign lasts 2 months. Each campaign will include 4 weeks of preparation time, 2 weeks of the actual event, and 2 weeks for post-event review and reward distribution.

1st Event Duration: 13th - 26th November 2023
2nd Event Duration: 8th - 21st January 2023

Do you accept the funding of your grant streamed linearly for the duration of your grant proposal, and that the multisig holds the power to halt your stream?
Yes

SECTION 4: PROTOCOL DETAILS

Provide details about the Arbitrum protocol requirements relevant to the grant. This information ensures that the applicant is aligned with the technical specifications and commitments of the grant.

Is the Protocol Native to Arbitrum?:
Yes.

On what other networks is the protocol deployed:
Only Arbitrum.

What date did you deploy on Arbitrum?:
31st March 2022.

Protocol Performance:
Tales of Elleria seeks to redefine the conventional gaming journey. Instead of presenting a fully fleshed-out game at launch, we embrace an evolutionary approach, unveiling features progressively. This unique strategy crafts an unfolding, journey-like experience, ensuring our players remain engaged, surprised, and ever-curious about the next chapter. Here are the features that we have launched over the past year till date: Minting, Gasless Gameplay, Assignments (staking), Explorations (staking), Quest (turn-based gameplay), Relics, Crafting, Wishing Well (burning), Consumables, Artifacts, Levelling, Tower of Babel (Alternate questing), $ELM Token, LP incentives, Cosmetics, Progressive Packages and Free-to-Play characters among other smaller updates.

In terms of partnerships, we had partnered with over 20 different games and tried to include their IP in our game among many others.

Player Statistics
• 13,700 Registered Players.
• 2,000 Hero NFT Holders.
• 652 Active Users in August.
• 243 Participants in the Latest Event, of which 125 were new Arbitrum wallets.

Marketplace Statistics:
• Heroes collection had 1,400,000 $MAGIC traded since inception.
• Relics collection had 255,000 $MAGIC traded since inception.

Token Statistics:
• $ELM Liquidity Pool is currently valued at 190,000 USD.

Roadmap:
In terms of roadmap, Tales of Elleria is just beginning.

We find ourselves situated at currently building out more game complexity while creating more features for Tales of Elleria until the point where we have enough depth to compete with Traditional Web 2.0 games. Once we’ve developed enough features, and enhanced immersion by introducing graphical and audio improvement, while simplifying the onboarding process, we intend to include cross-platform compatibility to compete with other prominent games out in the market. Through these, we aim to expand Elleria’s IP as we build out other games like Elleria Racers to further expand upon Elleria Studios.

Audit
Back in April, Tales of Elleria underwent a devastating LP hack. Since then, we have tripled down on security and have fully audited our tokens, fully recovering and resuming normal operations. You can find more about the audit here:
https://0xmacro.com/library/audits/tales-of-elleria-1

Coming back from this negative event is also proof of our community’s unwavering support as players, rarely seen anywhere else in Web 3.0. It is also proof that our team is able to handle our community members well to ensure the retention of players.

SECTION 5: Data and Reporting

Provide details on how your team is equipped to provide data and reporting on grant distribution.

Is your team prepared to create Dune Spells and/or Dashboards for your incentive program?:
Yes. Although we have our internal dashboard for monitoring in-game data, we are open to developing alternative dashboards tailored to the grant program.

Does your team agree to provide bi-weekly program updates on the Arbitrum Forum thread?:
Yes. We are willing to share the team’s progress and updates regarding the onboarding program and all ongoing events.

Does your team acknowledge that failure to comply with any of the above requests can result in the halting of the program’s funding stream?:
Yes.

Blockworks Research supports this proposal and finds the requested amount of 50,000 ARB to be justified based on, among other things, the anticipated sustainable impact on, and goodwill to, the ecosystem, metrics such as TVL / volume / fees on Arbitrum and overall, a comparative analysis of all submitted STIP proposals, the distribution of incentives across verticals, as well as, to a certain extent, the recommendations made by the Arbitrum Working Group through the four grant categories.

i can’t vote help me

Awesome project with clear roadmap! We would like to support Tales of Elleria.

Great proposal, reasonable request… but I have to vote no. I don’t think now is the time to incentivize gaming on Arbitrum, tho I am bullish on the sector in the long run, especially during the next bull run. The competition is tight here and this one is cool, but didn’t make the cut for my ballot. :-/

We would like to express our gratitude for submitting your proposal. We, as ITU Blockchain, have reviewed your proposal, and we find your game quite appealing. We believe that your approach to grant distribution and your stance on attracting new users and cross-platform integration are well-founded and sensible. We cannot overlook your previous experiences in this regard. Lastly, the requested amount appears to be quite reasonable.

We have no hesitation in voting ‘For’ this proposal.
