The Bible ‹› Delegate Incentive Program (DIP) - Manual for Delegates

Introduction

We are proud to finally share with you the first version of the Delegate Incentive Program Bible.

A manual for Delegates that provides a comprehensive breakdown of the Delegate Incentive Program (DIP) for ArbitrumDAO. It explains the updated participation criteria, scoring methodology, and compensation structure for delegates. It has a General Guide and Specific guides related to each existing version of the program.

Purpose of the Document

The goal of this document is to clearly outline the updated rules and criteria of DIP, ensuring delegates understand:

  • How their governance contributions are measured.
  • The weight and impact of different participation metrics.
  • The compensation structure and how payments are calculated.
  • The updated participation requirements and performance tiers.
  • The dispute resolution process and governance best practices.

This document serves as a guide for delegates to navigate the program efficiently, maximize their contributions, and ensure fair and transparent reward distribution within ArbitrumDAO.

Governance & Program Evolution

The DIP is a dynamic program, with continuous improvements based on community feedback. Updates are implemented to optimize:

  • Performance assessment methods
  • Compensation structures
  • Eligibility criteria
  • Dispute resolution processes

Community Feedback

We are eager to receive feedback from the community on how we can improve this document. If you think there are any FAQs that we should incorporate (both the General and the latest version) please let us know!

Please note that every future update to the program’s framework will be added to facilitate the tracking.

@SEEDGov team, this is simply great!

Well structured, easy to browse and exactly what I was looking for while applying to the DIP.

Thanks a lot

Good manual!

You can clarify the terms of payments better (When are payments distributed?).
There is no answer to this question now, only that they are made monthly, although the DIP clearly indicates the date, which can be specified there.

Similarly, for the item “How are rewards calculated?”. The link does not lead to the calculation. It would be better to indicate a specific calculation without having to go from one page to another (I think that was the point of this idea)

this is great indeed. but it should not live in a notion account. it should be in the forum, natively. and then the updates to any part of it, should be made visible and transparent to the whole community.

Hey everyone!

Thank you for your kind words and patience!

Thanks for flagging!

We’ve made some changes to reflect this feedback, please let us know if it makes sense now!

Yes, you are right. This time we chose Notion because we had been working on the structure of this document on that platform. The original intention was not to delay the delivery of this document knowing that initially it would not be perfect.
Having said that, we will try to migrate it natively to the forum as soon as possible. Thanks for your suggestion!!

Nice work @SEEDGov !

I’ve just added it to our data pipelines, so that should help discovery of the information via our search and Arbitrum Wizard bot as well.

In case it’s helpful, having just one source of truth, with the changes listed in that same source, would be beneficial. Users (and bots and search engines) wouldn’t need to jump through multiple documents to find the latest info, they’d just be able to refer to the one source of truth document.
