What is (Re)delegation Week? (+Application thread)

Hey, Arbitrum Foundation,

I am an active participant in the Arbitrum DAO. Since the launch of the Arbitrum mainnet, I have been actively involved in various ecosystem projects. Following the token distribution, I promptly took on the role of a delegate to participate in the governance of various proposals within the Arbitrum DAO–as shown on the Karma dashboard for both on-chain and off-chain activities. Currently, I am a eligible member of the Delegate Incentive Program.

While our DAO already has many active governance participants, it is crucial to engage more users in the governance process to better promote ecosystem development. I am willing to participate in this (re) delegation initiative to help drive this goal forward.

Thank you for considering my application.

Hello Everyone!

We are excited to participate in redelegation week. Entropy Advisors, which was an Arbitrum Foundation grant recipient and a team made up of former 404DAO and Blockworks Research employees, has been highly active in the DAO over the past 3-4 months as an organization - but all team members have been highly involved in the DAO since its inception. We have worked on things such as HackHumanity’s proposal to put on GovHack in Brussels, a Gas fee/Sequencer revenue proposal, a canonical DAO multisig dubbed the MSS, a governance calendar to enable more predictable operations in goverance, and have many other initiatives actively underway.

Our preferred AMA time slots are:

  • July 22, 16:00-17:00 UTC
  • July 23, 13:00-14:00 UTC

404 DAO is looking forward to participating in Arbitrum’s (Re)delegation Week!

As an active delegate since the inception of the DAO, we have been heavily involved with many of the DAOs programs, spanning from the early discussions around the shortcomings of AIP-1, to serving with our fellow peers on councils and working groups, to our most recent inclusion in the MSS election. It has been an honor and pleasure working alongside many talented and passionate individuals and we look forward to continuing our commitment to Arbitrum.

Some of our contributions hereunder:

Snapshot 1 [Passed] This proposal aimed at establishing an industry-first procurement framework for security-oriented services within the ArbitrumDAO. In the drafting of this proposal, a public consultation period was initiated to solicit stakeholder feedback so as to optimally structure this framework.

Snapshot [Passed] This proposal aims at establishing a collective of individuals and service providers to provide pivotal proposal-stage reporting to aid and enhance delegate decision-making. All members to be appointed by election with applicable caps. The members that were appointed were Delphi Labs, Blockworks Research, Open Zeppelin, Chaos Labs, and L2Beat.

Snapshot [Passed] This proposal aims at establishing the ArbitrumDAO Procurement Committee to not only facilitate and administer the ratified procurement framework for security services, but also create new frameworks, propose a subsidy fund for services, & create a means test to assess projects’ eligibility for subsidization.

Snapshot [Passed] This proposal concerned the election of the aforementioned committee members. Here, Joseph obtained the most votes for this election to the ArbitrumDAO Procurement Committee.

Snapshot [Passed] This proposal concerned the creation of a $2.5m subsidy fund so as to subsidize the costs of security services for eligible projects building on the Arbitrum tech-stack.

Snapshot [Passed] This proposal envisaged a monetary contribution of 1,000,000ARB to the DeFi Education Fund & Coin Center from the ArbitrumDAO to continue their policy, litigation & advocacy efforts in relation to open-source software & software developers’ rights.

In Q2 2024, Axis Advisory received a grant from ThankARB for the creation of Arbitrum’s optimistic governance module. This development is being worked on in a collaborative manner by Axis Advisory & Tally.xyz who will be supporting its implementation.

In Q1 2024, Axis Advisory received a grant from Plurality Labs as part of its firestarter program to set up the initial infrastructure for the ArbitrumDAO Procurement Committee - which then led to the successful implementation of an industry-first DAO procurement framework that is currently in its RFP stage and has attracted the attention of the industry’s most prominent security auditors.

Hey Arbitrum - excited to participate in redelegation week! I’m a relatively new Arbitrum delegate but have been aligned with the DAO since its earliest days, when I wrote the first external proposal to be passed through the new governance process.

After quietly learning the ropes for the past couple of months, I’m loooking forward to introducing myself to the community as part of this process.

Hi everyone!

Areta is excited to take part in Arbitrum’s (Re)delegation Week! We are active contributors to many key initiatives in Arbitrum DAO, with a keen interest in solving complex issues around capital allocation, governance strategy and structure, and service provider selection. We would like to spend even more time in forums and delegate discussions, as we believe we have a high level of context within Arbitrum and other key DeFi DAOs and hope we can drive Arbitrum DAO forward through our dedicated support and decision-making.

We support proposals that expand the Arbitrum ecosystem, safeguard token holders’ interests, and ensure its growth as a core part of the crypto ecosystem.

With our governance team at Areta, we are engaged in larger ecosystems on the Governance side (e.g., Arbitrum, Uniswap, Safe, dYdX, Aave) to solve complex coordination problems and advance key governance topics across the crypto space. So far, we have been an active delegate in Aave DAO, where we are among the top 5 delegates in voting power and activity (profile). Given our deep prior involvement in the Arbitrum ecosystem, we believe it is now a good time to bring this level of delegate rigor to Arbitrum DAO.

Feel free to reach out to us at areta.io, or directly in TG via @bmitte or @explorandoahora. We look forward to representing you and taking the Arbitrum ecosystem to the next level!

Hello everybody! My name is Liz and I’m the Head of Growth at Azuki and a contributor to the AnimeCoin Foundation, which is launching AnimeChain (Arbitrum Orbit L3).

I strongly believe that for Arbitrum to maintain its leading position as the dominant Ethereum L2 ecosystem, it needs strong use cases in addition to DeFi, especially in the consumer crypto vertical. Arbitrum already has wonderful gaming, art, and streaming use cases — offering strategic and tactical support to consumer crypto use cases will onboard millions of new users to cement Arbitrum’s dominance within the Ethereum ecosystem.

I am proud to represent the consumer crypto vertical via Azuki & AnimeChain in the Arbitrum ecosystem and am committed to using my experience to help other consumer-oriented projects thrive.

You can find more details around my experience in my Tally delegate profile below:

Excited to throw my hat into the ring for Arbitrum Redelegation Week!

I have been involved with ARB DAO since August 2023. I provide extensive reviews of proposals, led the Arbitrum Treasury WG, spearheaded 1% treasury diversification into RWAs built on our chain (the STEP proposal) and write prolifically on Twitter.

I have deep networks in the regen or web3 public goods space, serving as council member at Gitcoin and Octant and working as next billion fellow at the Ethereum Foundation, where I am piloting impact certificates as a new use case for blockspace.

The GMX governance committee shows interest in participating in (Re) delegation week.

We have been builders and supporters of the Arbitrum ecosystem for a long time. GMX deployed on Arbitrum along with its mainnet launch, and its accomplishments can be attributed in no small part to Arbitrum’s robust technical infrastructure. We believe that participating in (Re)delegation week will further strengthen our ties with the Arbitrum community and contribute to the ecosystem’s continued growth and success.
