404 DAO Delegate Communication Thread

Rationale for Votes Occurring in January

Snapshot

  1. Non-Constitutional: Stable Treasury Endowment Program 2.0

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: FOR
    3. Rationale: We voted FOR the Stable Treasury Endowment Program (STEP) 2.0. Our support for STEP 1 was based on the belief that it is a crucial component of Arbitrum’s treasury management strategy, aimed at diversifying revenue streams with a lower risk profile than ARB or ETH. The rapid expansion of real-world assets (RWAs) on Arbitrum—from $100K to $85M in just one year—demonstrates the sector’s strong growth potential. We believe there is still significant room for further expansion and asset migration to Arbitrum, supporting our decision to allocate an additional 35M ARB to STEP 2.0.
  2. Arbitrum D.A.O. Season 3 Elections - New Protocols and Ideas

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: 50% Castle Capital, 50% Saurabh
    3. Rationale: We split our votes 50% for Castle Capital and 50% for Saurabh in the new protocols and ideas election due to both candidates being highly qualified and having very high DAO context. Both have served on DAO working groups for grants in the past and we are confident that both would do a great job in this role.
  3. Arbitrum D.A.O. Season 3 Elections - Education, Community Growth, and Events

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: SeedGov
    3. Rationale: We voted for SeedGov in the S3 domain allocator education, community growth and events election. Seedgov has a unique perspective as a governance contributor, community leader within the LATAM ecosystem, and reliable delegate in the Arbitrum ecosystem. All reasons why we believe they are a great fit for the role.
  4. Arbitrum D.A.O. Season 3 Elections - Dev Tooling on One and Stylus

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: Juandi
    3. Rationale: We voted for Juandi in the S3 domain allocator dev tooling/stylus election. Juandi brings the right level of DAO context and experience. Additionally, past grantees have expressed the professional and pragmatic job Juandi has done during his last tenure.
  5. Arbitrum D.A.O. Season 3 Elections - Gaming

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: Flook
    3. Rationale: We voted for Flook in the S3 domain allocator gaming election. Given Flook’s past context and experience building gaming on Arbitrum, we felt he is highly qualified for the role.
  6. The Watchdog: Arbitrum DAO’s Grant Misuse Bounty Program

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: FOR
    3. Rationale: We voted FOR “The Watchdog” Program, recognizing its value as a structured and incentivized approach to prevent misappropriation of funds. By creating a bounty program and leveraging community participation, this initiative strengthens oversight and enhances accountability across the many initiatives where Arbitrum allocates capital. We would like to acknowledge that there are limitations to this program so it should be monitored to make sure no one is gaming/abusing the mechanisms.
  7. Proposal for Piloting Enhancements and Strengthening the Sustainability of ArbitrumHub in the Year Ahead

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: AGAINST
    3. Rationale: We voted AGAINST the proposal to Pilot Enhancements and Strengthen the Sustainability of ArbitrumHub in the Year Ahead. Our concerns remain consistent with those raised in the previous vote, particularly regarding the budget. Additionally, the site’s low engagement—only 12,000 page views—raises questions about its impact. Furthermore, for the content on ArbitrumHub to be valuable, the team must be high-context and deeply integrated within the DAO.
  8. Arbitrum Strategic Objective Setting (SOS) – Defining the DAO’s Interim Goals

    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: FOR
    3. Rationale: We voted FOR Arbitrum’s Strategic Objective Setting (SOS) – Defining the DAO’s Interim Goals. Establishing a clear North Star, along with well-defined objectives, is crucial for guiding prudent decisions and effective capital allocation. As we commented in the forum here, our one suggestion is to incentivize delegates for submissions, given the significant time commitment required. Beyond that, we are eager to participate in the SOS exercise by submitting a set of objectives.

Tally

  1. [Constitutional AIP] Activate Arbitrum BoLD + Infura Nova Validator Whitelist
    1. Proposal: Link
    2. Vote: FOR
    3. Rationale: We supported both of these proposals (AIP BoLD - permissionless validation for Arbitrum and Whitelist Infura Nova Validator) during the temperature check. Our previously stated rationale has not changed and can be found here and here.
