Funds to bootstrap the first BoLD validator

No brainer, this is a really cool technical improvement that will further boost Arbitrum’s status as a the best tech in the realms of optimistic rollups.

Cool governance experiments are always good in my book. This is a 1 year commitment, yes it could suck, but worst case scenario this was only a 200k ARB expenditure.

A partnership budget is an obvious low hanging fruit for the DAO! We need it, and it’s good to have it. It is a big amount of money but when you’re looking at the money that Optimism is putting into bringing more chains to the OP stack, competing will cost us at least that.

Very close vote here that sadly was defeated. I thought the monetary ask was more than reasonable and would have helped delegates that aren’t as well connected in the DAO. For 20k, that seems like an easy win.

Easy yes as well, happy to help the RARI team. Let’s make sure eventually we don’t have to have a DAO wide vote for things like this.

The results of the surveys following the delegate program have been positive, and I like the creation of tiers. On a personal level, it’s even motivating me to be more active as a delegate. Easy yes!

Though I’m very happy to see more focus being put on making sure that Stylus will get traction, I’m not sure the budget is appropriate. I’ll trust Entropy Advisors on this one. Sometimes we do need to bootstrap initiatives like this, $3M is pretty massive though. Let’s see.

The ARDC remains one of the driving forces behind the DAO and I’m excited to see what the v2 will look like. $2M is reasonable here. I’m also happy about the conversion strategy, as all of these expenses are causing negative price action for $ARB.

I’m happy to see a proposal like this because this means we’ll have less low importance onchain votes, like the one for the DAO offsite costing about 20k. When you think about what a vote like that costs to the DAO, it’s insane that we’re having proposals like this go through. Again, there’s a risk of centralization, but I’m hoping we’ll have an eye on these expenses and 2025 can be a trial year.

Not even sure what to write here, more validators is good. Let’s fund them. I have had way too many bad experiences with unreliable networks and APIs in my life, I’ll always vote yes for more stability.

Very reasonable ask, no budget requested for good research is a great deal for the DAO. Looking forward to see what comes out of it. Particularly excited about Hivemind.

Extremely interesting initiative. At Aragon we’ve already adopted this standard, and I’m confident it will allow the DAO to scale and newcomers to easily get the context they need. Fully for it!

The information provided by applicants about their contributions isn’t complete enough, if we start accepting proposals like this, where do we stop?

Voted Funded with 2.6M USDC + Council
I actually chose the highest funding option as I believe the ARDC has been doing good work, and with sufficient funding I think the DAO can get positive ROI on any investment here.

Though I’m very excited about Token Swaps, I don’t think the proposal here captured the right architecture for them. I think that convertible loans, for example, are a much better way to invest in projects in the ecosystem at a much earlier stage.

I trust the choice of the GCP on its leadership team, though I have to say I’m doubtful about Tim as he hasn’t been very involved in the Arbitrum DAO.

On the other hand, John has been more active and seem to be more in tune with the overall goals of the Arbitrum DAO.

This is a necessary piece of the DAO, we need to prepare the DAO for adversarial behaviors and having a code of conduct already in should help make sure we can react with a common source of truth to future issues.

Very much in favor of researching any method to make sure we’re sufficiently diversified and can survive another prolonged bear market. I think the team in place to do so is serious and I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with. Also happy to see we’ll use the ETH from sequencer revenue as creating new income streams non-ARB is very useful.
