OpCo Events Recap

Devconnect 2025 - Buenos Aires

On the occasion of Devconnect, the OpCo organised ‘La ArbiCasa’ on November 20th, a single-day event aimed at delegates, AAEs, DAO contributors, and builders on Arbitrum. The goal of the event, apart from socializing, was to spend some productive time in person in focused sessions discussing specific topics relevant to the Arbitrum DAO.

The agenda was as follows:

We didn’t manage to go through the Firestarter Fund session due to a lack of time, as the whole schedule was pushed forward.

We wanted to keep the gathering intimate and intentional, so we purposefully avoided blasting it out on social media or on any side-event lists that popped up. Instead, we adopted a word-of-mouth invitation model. We reached out to Arbitrum builders with the help of Arbitrum Foundation, Offchain Labs, and SEED Gov, as well as the domain allocators of the D.A.O program (Flook, Juandi, Castle Labs, and JuanRah). Despite that, we had a total of 196 people register, with about 100 showing up and a concurrent occupancy of about 60.

Throughout the converted house that hosted us for the day, we made sure to put up posters with the following things:

  • The event’s agenda (pictured above)
  • The AAE map (also available on our website at www.arbitrum-opco.com)
  • QR codes with the Telegram accounts of @Sinkas and @Tamara so guests could easily be connected to the OpCo
  • QR code with a link to the D.A.O. program on Questbook, so builders could easily find it

Additionally, we had set up a ‘DAO Complaints’ and a ‘DAO Praise’ box in the middle of the room where anyone could write either a complaint or a praise to the DAO anonymously.

Here’s what the attendees wrote:

Complaints

Small delegates don’t have voice. Please do a redelegation program.

I would love AF transparency reports to not be shitty one-pagers. I would love that AAEs could do something to differentiate good delegates from shitty ones so we don’t lose good people from the eco.

[…] A lot of research and insights from ARDC and the D.A.O program doesn’t really get leveraged, which results in both wasted money and unitilized work.

The DAO is too decentralized! More centralization is needed.

Praises

I love how Arbi is the most DAO-y DAO.

Modular Crypto have been doing a great job at the DAO and with grants received.

Security subsidy fund is awesome.

Smart people figuring out decentralized governance. Goats.

Arbi DAO actually generates revenue.

Great to have OpCo providing more visibility and support. [We need] More active treasury management to improve treasury. [We should be] Putting people in charge with developed domain expertise instead of starting from zero everytime.

I love how handsome Sinkas is.

The event was fully catered throughout the day, so no one had to leave the venue to find food, drinks, or coffee. In the evening, following all the sessions, we had asado (Argentinian BBQ).

Financials

The total cost of the event, including venue, food, merch, and consumables, came to $5450 USD, fully covered by the OpCo.

Pictures

If you have more pictures from the event, please DM @Sinkas5 on Telegram so they can be added here.

Arbitrum DAO in Devconnect

On top of La ArbiCasa, the Arbitrum DAO, through the OpCo or individual contributors and delegates, was present in the following:

OpCo at Governance Day by SEED

@Sinkas hosted a small workshop on ‘Operationalizing a DAO’ on behalf of OpCo

Uniswap Cup

The Arbitrum team made it to the phase of 16 after 3 intense matches.

Arbitrum Bridge LATAM by SEED (inside ArbiVerse)

Member of the OAT, @pedro was in a panel discussion with Rafael De Ambrosi (CEO of Twin) and Roberto Silva, the president of CNV (Argentina’s SEC).

ArbiVerse

The Arbitrum DAO had a booth at ArbiVerse, staffed by the OpCo, the Arbitrum Foundation, and Entropy throughout the event.

A recurring question attendees had throughout the event was: which entity in Arbitrum is responsible for what? The Arbitrum Aligned Entities (AAE) map that we prepared and actually stuck on the booth’s wall (visible behind Sinkas in the picture above) proved very helpful for visualising each entity’s responsibilities.

Another topic was the kind of support available from the Arbitrum DAO to builders. Many of the programs the DAO runs are not as visible to builders as we might think.

Dinner with Arbitrum C-Suite, Argentinian VCs, protocols, fintechs and regulators organized by @SEEDGov

We do not have a picture available, as it was a private dinner. Still, SEED organized an excellent dinner event attended by the Arbitrum Foundation, Offchain Labs, Entropy, and OpCo on the Arbitrum side. Shoutout to SEED for organizing it!

Arbitrum Foundation at Governance Day by SEED

@raam hosted and moderated a panel on ‘The AI-Governed DAO: Fiction or Inevitable Futue’ at Governance Day 1 by SEED.

@Mateusz was a panelist for the ‘How Decentralized Can Governance Be?’ panel at Governance Day 1 by SEED.

Arbitrum Foundation at Governance Geeks Hub in Devconnect

@raam hosted a workshop on the ‘Evolving Role of Delegates / Delegate Incentives’ at the Governance Geeks Hub in the main venue of Devconnect.

Arbitrum Foundation at Governance Day 2 by SEED

@amanwithwings presented the Arbitrum Foundation’s DVP Quorum Research at Governance Day 2.

Stylus Gathering by WakeUp Labs (Supported by the Arbitrum DAO)

@WakeUpLabs hosted the first Stylus Gathering during Devconnect, a small and intentionally curated event focused on teams building with Stylus. The gathering brought together ~40 contributors, ecosystem leaders, and developers interested in integrating Stylus into their protocols, with support from the Arbitrum DAO.

Huge shoutout to @tamara and @Sinkas for organizing the Arbicasa. The agenda, the workshops, everything. It was a massive effort, and the results were impressive. Congrats!

First of all, we would like to thank the @OpCo team for the recap and for the acknowledgments. For SEEDGov, it was a pleasure to support Arbitrum’s presence at Devconnect in every way we could.

We also echo @pedrob’s sentiment; both Sinkas and Tamara did an outstanding job.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the AAEs (OpCo, OCL, Entropy, AF) who collaborated with us throughout each of the events. Both the Arbitrum Bridge LATAM and the Dinner were made possible by the willingness and support of everyone involved.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Michael Chang and Tammy Fisher from the AGV in person, and we are grateful for the time they took to speak with us. Both showed excellent willingness and openness to discuss topics related to the DAO.

From our perspective, Devconnect was a clear example of how regional communities can engage with the various AAEs to uncover opportunities for Arbitrum. The closer we can bring key decision-makers from this ecosystem to the main institutional actors — public or private — in each region, the greater the chances that Arbitrum will come out ahead.

Once again, thank you to everyone who joined our events; to the OpCo team for the Arbicasa; to the Arbitrum Foundation for Arbiverse, ArbiPanadas, and the efforts at the main conference to keep Arbitrum everywhere.

ArbitrumDAO, including full-time staff and contributors, should be very proud of its presence at Devconnect this year.

It is quite remarkable to see people, who decided one day to join our community here on the forum, to show up in person and proudly represent the DAO. Not only that, but for them to go the extra mile by actively participating in events ranging from playing football, supporting the booth, or organising panels/talks.

DAO has had its ups and downs over the year, but its the people here, who make it a joy to work with.
