Snapshot Vote: August 21, 2024.
We voted ABSTAIN
A: Abstain
B: Abstain
C: Abstain. The Snapshot tool is used during the Temp Check phase, which carries minimal risk. Its main advantage is that it slightly mitigates the influence of collusion and competition signals during the voting process, aligning better with the voters’ true beliefs.
The limitations of Shielded Voting can be illustrated by the Compound case. If Shielded Voting were applied in Compound, it would be impossible to detect governance attacks during the voting process. Consequently, many who voted in favour might unwittingly aid the attackers. However, this scenario is unlikely in Arbitrum, where the potential consequences of this flaw are manageable.

We voted ABSTAIN
A: Against. Offline discussions lack transparency and could facilitate collusion. (All official matters should be discussed on the online forum, in writing.)
B: Abstain.
C: Abstain. Given last year’s performance at Devconnect Istanbul, ARB’s offline meetups can be beneficial for efficiency and unity. However, I agree with A’s point, so overall, I choose to abstain.
We voted AGAINST
A: Oppose. Entities should not be multiplied without necessity.
B: Oppose. Standardizing the work doesn’t seem to bring any clear benefits to ARB and may just create more reasons for future teams to request additional budgets.
C: Oppose. I don’t see any tangible benefits in terms of ARB’s original innovation or positive impact that would justify taking action.
We voted AGAINST
A: There’s little value in changing things. The current approach works well, so why fix what isn’t broken?
B: Against
C: Against
We voted ABSTAIN
A: In favour of the Disclosure Policy. While I support transparency, imposing stricter disclosure rules might inadvertently encourage dishonesty.*
B: FOR: Disclosure Policy
C: FOR: Disclosure Policy
