Application Template for Multi-sig Support Service (MSS)

Prerequisite:

  • I have read and oblige by the above prerequisites: Yes
  • I choose to opt into MSS chair: Yes

Personal Information:

  • Full Name: @jojo
    • Applying as organization: No
  • Contact Information (point person): @jojo, jojothecow@pm.me
  • Time Zone: CET (UTC+2)

Professional Background:

  • Current Occupation: Risk Analyst, Product strategy @ Jones
  • Relevant Work/Educational Experience: I am a single Arbitrum native users, contributing almost since inception to Jones, as strategist. My main role is to design the model underneath our vaults, and especially analyse the risks. Beside this, I have been serving as advisors in the LTIPP and STIP grant program, in the UAGP as committee member, and in the Guestbook Arbitrum Grant Program for the “New Protocols and Ideas” domain. Before lapping as a cow, I was a computer engineer managing a cyber threat intelligence team for 7+ years for military and state entities.

My multisig specific experience include:

  1. Uniswap Arbitrum Grant Program ($2m+): Deploy and sign grant payments for accepted proposals; convert assets through Safe (we moved our runaway from arb to stables to increase the amount of proposals we could serve a few months ago, accordingly to what was disclosed to the Uniswap Community)
  2. Questbook Arbitrum Grant Program ($1M): Managing all transaction, alongside the PM, to disburse grants for the current season of the grant program. Note: was as well the manager and the signer for the previous season, ran for 6 months.
  3. Delegate Incentives Arbitrum program ($1M+): I am currently one of the multisig signer
  4. ADPC: I am currently one of the mutlsig signer
  5. Aura Optimism Incentive Multisig: used to be, when I was contributing to Aura Finance, one of the signer tasked to sign or create transaction to distribute OP incentives to the Aura gauges accordingly to different metrics epoch over epoch Manage and deploy Uni incentives across all of Uniswap’s cross chain deployments over a dozen wallets and chains. Also manage payroll and stipends for various other Uniswap committees and initiatives.
  6. Other: Various other smaller multisigs and internal team operations

Technical Skills:

  • List any technical skills that are relevant to multisig operation: Utilizing Transaction Builder, Signed A LOT of transactions in different msigs, Created A LOT of transactions in different msgs, Ability to batch transactions, Created my own safe that I use for voting and deployed that very same safe in other chains beside Arbitrum, Utilised several hardware wallets from several vendors
  • Experience with EVM that makes you well suited for this program: Used several applications in the Gnosis Safe as well as other applications through wallet connect mostly to convert funds, Knowledge of Angle to distribute rewards.

Conflict of Interest Declaration:

  • Have you been involved in any projects funded by the DAO?: I am part of the Jones team which has received through STIP and STIP.b an incentive grant
  • Do you have any possible conflicts of interest?: I have several roles in grant programs in Arbitrum (Questbook, STIP, LTIPP), one role in a grant program for Uniswap (UAGP). I also contribute to Jones in a full time role, as well as advising other protocols from time to time. If any specific COI will arise, I will disclose promptly to managers and team in the same way I did during STIP, LTIPP, UAGP and Questbook.
    Motivation:
  • Why are you interested and what do you believe you can contribute?: This initiative is, to be honest, much needed. There is no need for several multisig, and I say this going against my personal interest since I am a member in two. To me is not really about the cost saving, which will be important, but more about standardising the msigs operations across the dao, to have a more robust and resilient layer in regards to fund distribution. With a unique, big msigs, despite several people serving in, we can expect likely the security standard to ripple into all participants and elevate the overall awareness over time. Beside, I have always been a security oriented person (literally worked in cyber security for years), and I have always had a lot of experience with multisigs. More time than not, i am either the one who creates the transaction if no one else is available, or i sign right away.

References and Experience:

  • Cattin (@cattin): I help him with the multisig in the delegate incentive program, we also serve together in Questbook
  • Bernard (@bernard): We work together in the UAGP program, every month we sign several txs to disburse grants
  • Joseph (@immutablelawyer): I am part of the ADPC multisig, and while this program is relative new he can likely testify about me being always around to both being annoying and also sign transactions
  • Matt (@matt_stablelab): He has been the PM of the biggest programs we have had so far, Stip Bridge and LTIPP. He saw how i work and how much committed I am to the roles I have
  • I could likely list all the protocols I helped either through grant program, BD or others. More likely that a protocol has already worked with me than not.

Template Arbitrum Multi-sig Support Service (MSS) Application

Prerequisite:

  • I have read and oblige by the above prerequisite: Yes
  • I choose to opt into MSS chair: NO

Personal Information:

  • Full Name: Griff Green
  • Applying as organization: No
  • Contact Information (if applying as organization, please designate one point person): N/A
  • Country of Residence / Time Zone: Turkey / Erratic, but usually between the Americas and Middle East

Professional Background:

  • Current Occupation: Co-Founder of Giveth & General Magic

  • Relevant Work/Educational Experience (Please list any relevant experience in governance, DAOs, and multi-sig operations):

I have been on several important multisigs over the last 8 years, some of the most notable:

    • TheDAO Rescue Multisig
    • The WHG Multisig on ETC
    • Aragon Community Multisig
    • Gnosis/xDAI Governance Multisig
    • Polygon-Hermez Emergency Multisig
    • Giveth, Dappnode, General Magic & all other projects I’ve founded

From 2016-2018 I helped to lead the White Hat Group which rescued a lot of projects most notably The DAO and the FIRST parity Multisig hack where we rescued 200M+ from vulnerable multisigs, and returned it all in about a week.

I am also a top delegate in many DAOs, ENS, Optimism, Gitcoin, Open Dollar, and of course Arbitrum!

Technical Skills:

  • List any technical skills that are relevant to multi-sig operation:
  • Experience with EVM that makes you well suited for this program (SAFE, Using a module, etc):

While not a developer, I am technical and feel comfortable reading solidity and deciphering bytecode when necessary. I am an engineer (Chemical) and am also one of the first people in the world to get a degree in digital currency (in 2016).

My griff.eth address is on 93 Safe’s and this one will help me on my march to 100

Conflict of Interest Declaration:

  • Have you been involved in any projects or proposals funded by the DAO? If yes, please specify.
  • Do you have any interests that might be seen as a conflict of interest if you are selected as a multi-sig signer?

I am a walking conflict of interest… I am a serial crypto founder of 10+ projects that live off grants and many of them may request a grant from Arbitrum (Giveth has received a couple). I also relatively influential in the Optimism and Polygon ecosystems, also Gnosis but to a lesser extent. I see my activity in these “competing” ecosystems as a plus not a negative as it gives me context and insight for this industry that few have access to.

I have a lot of reputation in the space and have no intention of tarnishing it.

Motivation:

  • Why are you interested in joining the MSS and what do you believe you can contribute to the MSS?

Mostly because Matt Fiebach of blockworks recommended I do it.

Honestly, I have seen things you wouldn’t believe & I truly care, I actually caught that there was no clawback function in the most recent Gaming multisig that is receiving 225M ARB this week, and I take signing txs seriously.

I don’t want to be a chair as I have a lot of responsibilities, and don’t have the bandwidth to do a good job, but I will definitely review transactions and make sure they get executed safely.

  4. Country of Residence / Time Zone: United States (Eastern Time)

Professional Background

  1. Current Occupation

Reverie is an investment and advisory firm focused on crafting generational companies and protocols.

  1. Relevant Work/Educational Experience

Reverie has been actively engaged in onchain governance for a number of DAOs since inception, as delegates, tokenholders, and active contributors:

  • dYdX

    • Leading the dYdX Ecosystem Development Program, serving as a partnerships and funding arm of dYdX, helping support infrastructure, chain services, protocol development, and growth.
    • Launched the dYdX Operations Trust, which hosts community and protocol infrastructure (forums, indexer, front-ends, etc).
  • Osmosis

    • Launched and led the day-to-day of the Osmosis Grants Program for 2+ years, awarding grants to value-add projects and accelerating the development of key strategic initiatives to grow the Osmosis ecosystem.
    • Ran a validator and actively participated in the governance of the protocol.
  • Orca

    • Designed and launched Orca’s governance framework and onchain DAO program, which also included launching a Governance Council to maintain protocol growth (we also sit on the Council).
    • Led several growth and development initiatives (treasury diversification, bug bounty, token market making, key hire intros).
  • Uniswap

    • We’re Uniswap delegates and have been involved in the creation and maintenance of the DeFi Education Fund (and sit on its multi-sig).
  • We’re also delegates for Arbitrum and Optimism.

Technical Skills

  1. List any technical skills that are relevant to multi-sig operation

We have extensive experience managing multi-sigs, queuing/signing transactions, and manually submitting governance proposals across different stacks (EVM, Solana, and Cosmos SDK).

  1. Experience with EVM that makes you well suited for this program

We have experience with managing SAFE multi-sigs and can read transaction bytecode, so we’ll be aware of what we’re signing.

Conflict of Interest Declaration

  1. Have you been involved in any projects or proposals funded by the DAO? If yes, please specify.

While we’re not involved in any projects or proposals funded by the DAO, we are Arbitrum delegates, so we’ll abstain from voting for ourselves on this proposal.

  1. Do you have any interests that might be seen as a conflict of interest if you are selected as a multi-sig signer?

We’re small investors in Sovereign Labs (a competitive rollup stack) and Optimism delegates.

Motivation

  1. Why are you interested in joining the MSS and what do you believe you can contribute to the MSS?
  • We’d like to get more involved in the Arbitrum community as an organization and this would be a perfect opportunity to do so.
  • As Arbitrum delegates, this role would give us more exposure to how new DAO-funded programs operate, which will allow us to make more informed decisions when deciding how to cast our votes.
  • We fully support the MSS initiative as a way to improve the DAO’s efficiency and cut costs, especially as more programs are funded.
  • We have lots of experience with multi-sigs and understand the importance of being a responsive signer, which we’ll make sure to be.

I am a core team member of Treasure and am a member and signer on the Treasure DAO Arbitrum Representative Council. Motivation:

  1. Why are you interested in joining the MSS and what do you believe you can contribute to the MSS?

I would like to contribute to the organisation and smooth running of Arbitrum DAO. I have been with Arbitrum through Treasure since Q3/Q4 2021 and have been part of its incredible growth and advancement since then. I am deeply aligned with the success and growth of Arbitrum and have the skills and experience to contribute in this capacity.

Due to the flexible nature of my regular work, I am often more available than others to sign, create or queue transactions as needed. As much as is possible, I encourage prompt finalizing of transactions that have been set up, acknowledging that people and teams are waiting for them to be completed. By the same token, care must be taken when singing that the transaction is correct and as expected. Expediency combined with caution is required.

    • Yes. We have received compensation for our role as Advisors for LTIPP and STIP Bridge. Some of our members have also been retroactively rewarded grants as part of the Arbitrum Citizens grants.
    • Additionally, our members have worked for protocols that have received funding (Atomist with Rysk Finance for the STIP)
  2. Do you have any interests that might be seen as a conflict of interest if you are selected as a multi-sig signer?
    • Advisor and service provider of several teams operating on Arbitrum and other networks.

Motivation:

  1. Why are you interested in joining the MSS and what do you believe you can contribute to the MSS?
    • Castle wishes to act as a trusted party within the Arbitrum ecosystem whilst carrying out low-friction helpful tasks for the DAO which it is already very much used to. The MSS is a great proposal to improve multi-sig structures in the DAO and reduce costs.

Current Occupation:

Relevant Work/Educational Experience (Please list any relevant experience in governance, DAOs, and multi-sig operations): Blockstar has been around since 2021 providing content/research services for projects and fostering a community of over 60 builders, traders, and researchers in the space. We run two DAOs that operate using multisigs and have extensive experience transacting, tracking and monitoring onchain transactions. Technical Skills:

List any technical skills that are relevant to multi-sig operation:

Experience with EVM that makes you well suited for this program (SAFE, Using a module, etc):

Conflict of Interest Declaration:

History transacting on just about every EVM chain and thousands of transactions over the course of the last few years. We have used SAFE for years (received the airdrop) for both our NFT and ERC-20 DAOs. Very extensive experience transacting onchain.

Have you been involved in any projects or proposals funded by the DAO? If yes, please specify.

Do you have any interests that might be seen as a conflict of interest if you are selected as a multi-sig signer?

No, I have not been involved in any projects funded by the DAO nor do I think there would be a conflict of interest here.

Motivation:

Why are you interested in joining the MSS and what do you believe you can contribute to the MSS?

While Blockstar’s private group has blossomed into a lively community, we do not have many instances where we are actively supporting the ecosystem publicly. We would like to change this by getting involved with Arbitrum’s Multi-sig Support Service to support both the Arbitrum DAO and our friends at Entropy.

I’ve received grant funding for votingpower.xyz.
  2. Do you have any interests that might be seen as a conflict of interest if you are selected as a multi-sig signer?
I’m an active member of the ENS DAO, where I contribute to governance and grants programs through my roles as a ENS Steward, ENS Delegate, and founder of namestone.xyz (open source project funded by ENS DAO). In those roles I may end up interacting with companies that may create a conflict of interest in the future, though I’m not aware of any at the moment.

Motivation:

  1. Why are you interested in joining the MSS and what do you believe you can contribute to the MSS?

Disjointed multisigs operations is where waste hides. Streamlining DAOs operations brings not only efficiency but greater transparency. I hope to exchange best practices between ENS & ARB for the betterment of both.

Professional Background:

  1. Current Occupation: Jr Dev @ Kali / Delegate @ SEED Latam / Analyst Intern @ Delphi
  2. Relevant Work/Educational Experience (Please list any relevant experience in governance, DAOs, and multi-sig operations): I’ve been working on DAO tooling through Kali, where we’re currently building our own smart contract accounts (Nani). Apart from this, I’m currently managing QuestBook’s Education, Community Growth, and Events Domain through SEED Latam and the Delegate Incentives Program Multisig.

Technical Skills:

  1. List any technical skills that are relevant to multi-sig operation:
I have experience setting up transactions, using the transaction builder, and batching transactions, which I constantly do as part of my roles as Domain Allocator and multisig manager for the Incentives Program. I also have some basic experience using SAFE’s CLI, even though I don’t think it’s necessary for this role.

  2. Experience with EVM that makes you well suited for this program (SAFE, Using a module, etc):

Conflict of Interest Declaration:

  1. Have you been involved in any projects or proposals funded by the DAO? If yes, please specify.
Yes, I’m SEED Latam’s delegate, and they received funds from the DAO for our role as Domain Allocators, LTIP/STIP.B Advisors, and our Delegate Incentives Program proposal. Also, I’ve just started working as an intern analyst at Delphi, which is currently part of the ARDC.

  2. Do you have any interests that might be seen as a conflict of interest if you are selected as a multi-sig signer?
As mentioned before, I’m involved in several programs in the DAO and am also building a project on Arbitrum (Nani). If there’s any potential conflict of interest between my role in the MSS and any of these projects, it will be disclosed to the other members of the MSS, but I don’t think I would have any COI at the moment.

Motivation:

  1. Why are you interested in joining the MSS and what do you believe you can contribute to the MSS?
In SEED Latam, we often discussed the need to solve our multisig issue—the current state is incredibly inefficient. So, I was very happy to see a proposal pushing for an actual solution to this. As someone who has been managing a couple of multisigs for the DAO, I’d be glad to provide my experience to support this initiative.
